i am a woman in my 30s and i bought this for MYSELF because i fell absolutely in love with yamada's other book "Maybe". the simple, beautiful story mixed with the GORGEOUS illustrations by barouch makes these 2 books the most BEAUTIFUL books that i own. i wish that yamada used barouch for all of his books as i do not like the illustrations of his other books by different illustrators. i cannot recommend these two books enough. they are just stellar. the first book i received was damaged in transit but i contacted amazon and they promptly sent me out a replacement in that arrived in perfect condition. i am SO SO SO happy to own these breath-taking, stunningly beautiful and comforting/inspiring books. Do not let the cover fool you! This book is NOT just for children. This is something that can and will certainly be enjoyed by people of all ages. I am desperately hoping for more yamada/barouch works in the future. A++++++

Truly a wonderful book at all levels. I purchased this for an adult friend of mine and they positively loved it. It's inspiring, the illustrations are stunning, and the overall feel of it is really nice. Although meant for kids, this book has a powerful message and something that even us adults could benefit from every once in awhile.

I 100% love this book and love this author. The story is beautiful and so are the pictures. The message in the book is a great one for any age. I love reading this to my two year old!

Kobe Yamada has become one of my favourite authors to use for my Grade 5 class. Each book makes children think a bit more deeply, and they encourage children to explore who they are, take risks and dream big.

Kobi Yamada's book, "Why Not? Discovering Your Bright Possibilities" is an excellent book for children and people of all ages. This well-written and beautifully illustrated book encourages the reader to explore the dreams you have for your life and not let anyone tell you 'No.' Instead, ask the question, "Why not do it?" and let your imagination dream your dream for life. I used this book for a graduation message in my church and then gave copies to the seniors to drive home the point.

This is a lovely, uplifting book that encourages kids to stay curious, trust their ideas, and ask “why not?” The story feels gentle and affirming without being preachy, and the illustrations are soft and engaging. It’s especially nice for kids who are thoughtful, imaginative, or a bit cautious—it validates curiosity and creativity in a really positive way. A great choice for sparking conversation about trying new things and believing in yourself.

Such a sweet book. We bought it to use as a keepsake for teachers to sign throughout my son’s school years. He just finished kindergarten and I loved the sentiment and that it isn’t too little kiddish.
