Game changer!
This keyboard with banana switches has completely transformed my typing experience. The aluminum build quality feels premium, and QMK/VIA customization lets me create perfect shortcuts. Both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless work flawlessly with zero lag. The banana switches are an absolute joy to type on - each keystroke feels smooth and satisfying with the most amazing sound profile I've ever heard from a keyboard. The acoustic experience is simply sublime, making every typing session feel like music. I'm typing faster and more accurately, and genuinely look forward to using it just to hear those beautiful key presses. The battery life is excellent and rarely needs charging, even with RGB enabled. If you're considering a premium mechanical keyboard, the Q6 Max with banana switches is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

Wonderful, expensive keyboard, but heavvvvy!
Oh this keyboard is just wonderful to type on! It's buttery smooth with the brown switches, and it sounds so solid and "thocky" when typing on it. Was worried about it not having a way to adjust the typing angle, but it's perfect for me. Depending on where you use it, this could be a pro or a con. For me, it's a pro--this thing is solid and *heavy*. It doesn't slide around uncontrollably on your desk like a $20 basic keyboard which is good. It stays put because it's as heavy and solid as a brick. Being so solid, it makes everything you type seem important and purposeful. But, the weight means that you're not moving this thing around much, and don't even think of traveling with it. It ain't gonna happen! Of course, nothing is perfect, but this keyboard is pretty close for me. My primary annoyance after using it daily for a couple of weeks is the placement of the knob. I use it for its default purpose which is to adjust the system's volume. Being stuck in the middle of the top row of keys it's very awkward to use. There's just not enough room from the surrounding keys to use it comfortably or easily. It's like trying to use boat oars as chop sticks to pickup a grain of rice. I wish there was a way for Keychron to have positioned it at the edge of the keyboard so that using it isn't restricted by the close proximity of the surrounding keys. A knob is better than using a key shortcut, but in this case, only very slightly better. The unfortunately-placed knob aside, everything else about the keyboard is exceptional. Is it economical to buy? Absolutely not. Is it worth every penny? Would I buy it again. Yeah, I very much would. As long as it lasts at least 5 years then I won't have any regrets about shelling out the dollars for this premium mechanical keyboard with a premium typing experience..

Thoroughly test large keys on receipt, assembly quality is poor and stabilizers have issues.
Keyboard is hefty and feels sturdy, could potentially double as a home defense weapon. Keycaps out of the box were a little tall for my liking but high quality and the switches felt nice, I felt no need to replace them. Unfortunately, the space bar and numpad enter key stick. On review, it looks like there's an issue with the stabilizers on those two sepecific keys, which stay lifted when pulled up with tweezers. Ruled out the switch and keycaps by porting them over to another board and testing them with no stick. Chances are the framework underneath is either overlubed or not set properly, but halfway through disassembling the full keyboard, I got frustrated with it not matching any of their official documentation's videos - part of this is due to the wireless functionality, which has a battery in the back. This cable is somewhat easily unseated allowing you to continue, only to find more such inconsistencies every few minutes, on what is already an extremely time consuming process. A couple of searches seem to suggest this is a very common problem and that the suggested fix is a full disassembly and cleaning and relubing them. For this pricetag, this is absolutely not worth the effort, so probably just going to return it or throw it out. Awful first impression of Keychron. Edit: Possibly due to anger and or brain problems, I proceeded with the disassembly anyway. Yes, the stabalizers are overlubed, so badly that it looks chunky, as shown in the (blurry, crappy) attached picture. It's possible that this can be fixed by doing the same for the spacebar's one, cleaning them and relubing them, and this would be understandable for a cheap keyboard. This is not a cheap keyboard. The amount of time wasted on this has shattered all possible value perspective, so unless you have infinite time and don't mind fixing manufacturer issues, I'd avoid Keychron.

Keychron Q6 Max Review – A Heavy-Hitting Nostalgic Powerhouse
The Keychron Q6 Max is an absolute beast of a keyboard that instantly transports me back to the golden era of IBM metal keyboards from my middle school days. Right out of the box, the full-metal construction exudes durability, giving it a weighty, premium feel that ensures it stays firmly in place on my desk—no accidental slides here unless you're deliberately moving it. Typing Experience & Switches Equipped with Gateron Banana switches, the typing experience is smooth and incredibly satisfying. The tactile feedback is reminiscent of old-school IBM buckling spring keyboards, though with a slightly more modern and, admittedly, louder twist. The sound is deep, crisp, and borderline obnoxious, making it a potential nightmare in open office environments—but for home use, it's a dream come true for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts. Performance & Customization Since switching to the Q6 Max, my typing speed has noticeably improved at least 10% increase. The hot-swappable PCB makes it easy to swap out switches if you ever feel like experimenting. QMK/VIA support means extensive customization, from remapping keys to setting up macros effortlessly. The programmable knob is a handy addition, whether you're adjusting volume, scrolling, or fine-tuning other controls. Connectivity & RGB With Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz wireless, and USB-C wired options, the connectivity is seamless, catering to Mac, Windows, and Linux users alike. The RGB backlighting is bright and vibrant, though it can be turned off or adjusted to more subtle effects if you prefer a more understated look. Final Thoughts If you're looking for a heavy-duty, nostalgia-packed keyboard with modern features, the Keychron Q6 Max is a stellar choice. However, its loud switches might not be ideal for office environments unless you work alone or have a soundproof space. Overall, this keyboard is a masterpiece for mechanical keyboard lovers who appreciate both function and form. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) ✅ Pros: ✔️ Solid metal build – heavy, sturdy, and premium ✔️ Fantastic tactile typing experience with banana switches ✔️ QMK/VIA support for deep customization ✔️ Multiple connectivity options (Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, USB-C) ✔️ Hot-swappable PCB for switch customization ✔️ Smooth, programmable knob ❌ Cons: ❌ Loud key switches – not ideal for shared workspaces ❌ Weighty – not the most portable option Would I recommend it? Absolutely—if you love old-school IBM keyboards and want a modern mechanical upgrade, the Q6 Max is a dream come true!

soft sound, great feel
i switched from a logitech gaming keyboard with a very low, slim profile. i wasnt sure about the transition but knew i wanted a new keyboard with a cool sound and nice keycaps. i was able to check this one out in store before ordering. its well worth the money and i really like the backlit features. the macro keys and custom settings take some getting used to but its easy to learn with their tutorial and youtube. overall its a great product, looks really nice, and feels great to type on. i absolutely love the sound of the keys and the slight curve. highly rec for anyone wanting to venture into mechanical keyboards.

Nice
Really happy with it. It’s a solid, heavy mechanical keyboard and the red switches feel and sound great. I like a full keyboard and the stock keycaps, but it is really easy to pop them off with the provided tool if you want to switch them out and customize from there. Out of the box it had the Mac layout installed, but again it was easy to switch to the Windows keys provided too. It’s been great and easy to use. I can’t comment on Keychron’s software, I haven’t had any reason to download it since my computer recognized the keyboard as is. I turned the backlight off using the key commands and haven’t needed to change any settings otherwise. It’s been responsive and I haven’t lost connection once so far. It’s has great battery life too compared to other wireless keyboards I’ve had. I usually only need to charge it once a month, and even less frequently when I’m not on the computer as much. Seems like it will hold up, so it’s been a good upgrade for me.

Almost Perfect
Overview: As someone who came from using full sized "gaming" keyboards from the likes of Logitech, Razer, and Corsair, this is a night and day difference and something that I will go back to every time without a single doubt in my mind. The jump in quality for roughly the same price for the higher-end variants of the "gaming" brands, is night and day, I'll never go back. That being said, it is not perfect. The software was buggy and I had to contact support which sent me some different firmware versions to try out; the worst bug by far was an issue where the keyboard would insert two spaces while typing despite me only pressing it once. I know it wasn't my fault, I've been touch typing without issue since the 3rd grade, which was 20 years ago. It was further confirmed it wasn't my fault as after swapping the firmware out, the issue instantly went away and I hit a personal record typing speed of 154wps. Regardless, some better quality checking in terms of firmware would send these a long way, especially as I also found 2-3 reddit threads complaining about the same issue. Overall, I would happily buy this keyboard again. Pros: - The banana switch was perfect for me, extremely and satisfyingly tactile and makes typing a pleasure. - The build quality and weight of the keyboard is world class, easily the best in the market in my opinion. - There is bluetooth connectivity if you are constantly switching between 1-3 devices, but I recommend using the included 2.4ghz dongle as it makes it feel like you're wired in. - Battery life is rather good, even with rgb on. I get 1-1.5 weeks without an issue depending on how heavily I am using the keyboard. - The built in keycaps are very nice feeling and feel great to type on, I am also a big fan of the design. Cons: - The firmware was very buggy before I contacted support, I should not have to do this on a keyboard with this kind of price tag. - Support also had a hard time believing that I was not the issue and instead was indeed the keyboard at fault.

Typing experience great, quality is subpar
For such an expensive keyboard, you would expect 100% functionality. This is not the case. Some keys don’t work unless you press obscenely heavy, and sometimes when they do work at normal pressures the double type characters. Not worth the hassle, find something else.
