This shampoo is a great option if you suffer from dandruff. Same Ingredients as the name brands but half the price. It doesn’t smell good but it treats dry scalp quickly! I incorporate this into my showers 2x weekly in the winter months and see great improvement with my scalp health.

This has been amazing. I used to work in dermatology and would get samples of T Gel and loved it. After I left, I would buy it at Walmart and it was somewhat pricy. Eventually it stopped being on the shelf. S Tal didn’t work for me. I went to a dermatologist to get Ketoconazole and that didn’t work. When I saw the Amazon brand I was skeptical because it was 1/4 the price of T Gel. 10/10 would recommend. It works so well for me and I am grateful I’m not spending $36 on the name brand. It smells awful (as did T Gel anyways), but it works.

These are generic shampoes but they do the work. Great fir itchy oily smelly scalp. Cheaper also

Works well but stinks like tar

This Amazon Basics Therapeutic Plus Coal Tar Anti-Dandruff Shampoo really works. After just a few uses, I noticed a big improvement in flaking, itching, and scalp irritation. The extra strength 1% coal tar formula is effective and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. That said, it does have a strong coal tar/medicinal smell, which is expected with this type of shampoo. The scent is noticeable during use but fades after rinsing and drying, so it’s not an issue once your hair is dry. It lathers well, cleans the hair thoroughly, and leaves the scalp feeling calmer and healthier. My hair still feels clean and manageable afterward. It’s comparable to name-brand therapeutic shampoos but at a much better price. If you’re dealing with stubborn dandruff or scalp conditions and care more about results than fragrance, this shampoo is a great choice.

The smell bothers some people (according to my family it smells like fuel before my hair dries) but it doesn’t bother me and it helped clear my dandruff up completely! Zinc shampoo could never 👎

I really wanted to love this Amazon Basics Therapeutic Plus Coal Tar Shampoo, especially since it’s at a great price point compared to the name brands. On the positive side, you can tell the formula is potent and high-quality. It definitely feels like a "therapeutic" grade product, and for some people with severe scalp issues, this strength is probably exactly what they need. ​However, I found the formula to be a bit too strong for my personal needs. While I was looking for a deep clean, it didn't quite leave my scalp feeling as refreshed or "clean" as I had hoped. Instead of soothing my irritation, it felt a little overwhelming, and I didn't see the results I was looking for after several uses. ​I also noticed that the shampoo is definitely on the heavier side. It has a thick consistency that lingered a bit too long, and I struggled to rinse it out completely. If you have very thick hair or a sensitive scalp, just be aware that this is a heavy-duty treatment. It’s a solid product for the price, but it just wasn't the right match for my specific scalp type.
