I use this to supplement our LA curriculum. I’ve been using the skill sharpeners spelling books this year and have seen a big improvement in spelling. The activities are easy to follow and make learning the word list more fun. We will continue to use these for each grade. Evan moor is great!

Good for those who need some practice and want something with color and engaging content.

Throughout the day, students of all grade levels and skill levels visit my resource room, so I utilize these books to help with their instruction. Using these workbooks, students can put into practice the concepts we cover in class outside of my regular classroom setting.

My third grader is homeschooled and uses this as a supplement for spelling.The Pros:It has a good variety of exercises to practice the words, including some paragraph writing and occasional grammar practice built in. This was really what interested me in this book, since many spelling curricula keep words in isolation from any context or just introduce a few short sentences. That being said, it is not a heavy workload, perfect as a short and sweet supplement.The Cons:The words are a little simple for third grade. We skipped the first few lessons for that reason, but even later in the book the words are somewhat below grade level. For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend it as a stand alone for spelling, though I have not tried other levels.

I've been using these spelling books for homeschooling since my son was in 2nd grade. Next, year he will be in 5th grade. These books have lots fun exercises for practicing the spelling words in each lesson. My son always enjoys these books, and is never bored with them. Each lesson starts with a history or science story that uses the spelling words. Then has a crossword puzzle or word search, and a spellamadoodle page. Also the each lesson usually includes grammar and writing exercises. Last, there is a quiz page for the spelling and grammar covered in that lesson. These are great spelling books and fun for kids.

These are perfect self starting work books for those self starting kids. Easy to go through with a variety of ways to practice skills. We love them for homeschooling.

Love these workbooks. Uses different ways to help kids remember a theme for the week. My son is doing way better in spelling and writing. I am buying these for every subject for both of my boys for homeschooling next year!
