Very Helpful !
I would have preferred "Flash Cards" to learn the music notes specifically for VIOLIN ... But was unable to find with Amazon "Prime" free shipping ... didn't want to pay extra for shipping. This book is ok ... Haven't had much time yet to delve more into the book.

Great learning companion
This book's approach to note reading works! It broken down into simple to understand lessons that would not overwhelm the budding musician. You will learn the notes by strings/keys. It has been by far the most helpful learning aid! I liked it so much that I bought the cello version for my cello playing son. I wish I knew about this book sooner!

Great illustration and easy to understand
Recommended by my violin teacher. This is a great reinforcement workbook to learn music reading on violin! It really helped me alot.

I bought this book as a complete beginner, not understanding how to read various line and space notes, pitches, ledger lines etc. Once I started, within days I took on so much information and because of the easy explanation of tasks - was able to remember key points to learning the violin and also how to read notes on music sheets (basic violin theory). I posted an example of the notes I took down from memory alone after completing the first set of activities from the book and stopping at open notes. It’s a really fun book with detailed information explained in the most simplest way possible! Especially for a dyslexic adult beginner like me! It’s also perfect for those waiting to buy a violin but haven’t gone one yet - as learning basic music theory helps to keep you a step ahead to prepare yourself for paying notes on the strings.

Bought for my teenage son and it looks like a great book. Like most of his 'hobbies' I bought this and it lies untouched because he moved onto the guitar before it arrived. It looks like a useful book though.
