Have a need to my inserts to the 5 yr cross pencil and pen set I got many years ago working for Litton guidance and control. I love the cross pens, and needed to find the inserts for them, since I write all the time. As I moved out of Ca, I found some of the things I could go and buy locally, weren't available in the new state I live in, so like always I went to Amazon and found them there. fits, works, and I m happy, that is all that matters. Smooth, and they tend to last the ink is "just right" as Goldie locks would say, and of course they fit perfectly.

Very good product

I first wrote the review following this one when I could not get the refills to advance fully in the pen. After reading a few reviews where they discussed the coating that was on the bottom of the refill so it wouldn't dry out, I inspected the refill again and found that the coating was on the bottom of the shaft as well. Once I scraped all of the coating off the shaft, the refill fit perfectly and wrote well. While these refills are supposed to be compatible with Cross pens, they are slightly shorter. The refill does extend out of the barrel, but only enough so that one needs to hold the pen virtually upright in order to write. Technically still usable.

I have a few Cross pens. These refills don’t work with any of them. I even tried replacing the plastic top with my existing cartridge, still didn’t work.
