Value for money, quality and comfortable

I have been using Xiaomi buds 3 pro for more than 3 years when I sadly dropped the case onto the Elizabeth line. Obviously, as a trusted customer, I immediately thought about ordering the same ones, but sadly they seem to be unavailable, so I opted for the newer model. I am glad I did; it is so much better with a higher definition of sound and quality. I'm really happy with the performance; the batteries are really good as well, and the design and overall aesthetics are so nice and every single little detail just works so well together. When you hold them, you definitely have the feeling you're holding £200 earphones.

Xiaomi have positioned themselves well in the tech marketplace, particularly with phones. Their Redmi branded mobile range have been big sellers, so it only makes sense that they would release accompanying headphones. Having owned a couple of Redmi phones, I already knew their balance of build quality and affordability was good. I'm happy to say, these Redmi 8 Pro buds follow suit. The earbuds arrive well presented in a full colour branded box. Also included inside is a short USB-C cable, two sets of different sized buds, and an instruction manual. The earbuds come stored inside their pebble shaped charging case. As soon as you unwrap it and get it in hand, you can tell the quality is good. The case is very sleek and well finished in gunmetal dark grey (or Obsidian Black as they call it). There's a thin white charging indicator light on the front. The USB charge port and pairing button are on the underside. Upon opening the case, I was surprised to find that my phone immediately recognised the earbuds and prompted to connect via Bluetooth. I didn't even have to press the pairing button thanks to Google Fast Pair. The earbuds themselves are very sleek looking, with a touch sensitive chrome panel on the stem. They come with the medium size silicone buds fitted. I found they fitted my ears perfectly, but you can try the included small or large buds if you find the medium size are too loose or too tight. After the buds had connected to my phone, I was also prompted to download the Redmi app. I actually declined as I wanted to see how good the buds were without any additional software. Truthfully, I also don't want an unnecessary app taking up space on my phone. I may choose to download it at some point, as it adds a few extra features and controls to the buds. Of course, the most vital question with headphones and earbuds is "How do they sound?" Well, very good, as it turns out. The sound is clear, punchy, dynamic and well rounded. The low end is excellent, which is a surprise. Good bass is often where earbuds trip up, as the small sized drivers have trouble shifting enough air. I've actually heard worse bass response in some over ear headphones. If I was being picky, I'd say that the overall sound is a little cold and clinical, but that's down to personal choice and might be remedied by tweaking sound settings. They're great sounding earbuds though. You can trust that Dolby Audio certification. The noise cancellation also impresses. When it's switch on, it cuts down background noise significantly, making for a much more pleasant listening experience in noisier environments. I did notice, though, that there was an audible hiss when the noise cancellation is off. It's not loud, but it's there. You don't really notice when audio is playing. The controls are quite easy to get used to and work well. Each earbud operates the same, so it's suitable for lefties and righties. I like that pause and play requires a double tap, as I've had buds in the past that use a single touch, and it's annoying if you accidentally catch it with your fingers. One nifty feature with these buds is that audio is automatically muted when one or both earbuds is removed. That's great if you quickly need to hear someone or something while listening to music. I believe you may be able to switch off this feature in the app. Another clever feature is the ability to "call" the earbuds to locate them. I confess I didn't really extensively test the mic and call features of the buds, but a cursory test suggested the microphone had good audio pick up and was quite clear. The battery life impresses. They arrived fully charged, and after using them to test for around an hour, the buds were still at around 80%. Overall, this is a really nice set of earbuds. They're well made, sound great and have lots of nice features. At the current price of £64.99, they're priced pretty competitively in what is a rather crowded marketplace. If you're looking for an earbud upgrade, then these Redmi 8 Pros are well worth considering.

Absolutely mind-boggling how these headphones are only £30...exceptionally good sound quality, incredibly comfortable, and the noise cancelation somehow works significantly better than the pair of Sony Linkbuds S I bought last year that cost over £170!! Don't think about it, just add these in your cart now!!

its pretty good sound for the money the construction of the charging case is bad its very cheap plastic. the noise cancelation isn't perfect but for most situations its good enough. the noise transparency isn't that great.

This was my best buy of the year! Fully satisfied with the device. Amazing sound. Super noise cancelling. Comfortable to the extent that I forget I have them on my ears. Charges super fast and power lasts long enough for my long nights of watching videos. In addition to the beautiful elegant design. Bravo Xiaomi 👏👏

These earbuds are excellent for the price. The sound quality is great, and both the Noise Cancellation and Transparency modes work really well for staying aware of your surroundings. ​I highly recommend downloading the Xiaomi Earbuds app to customize the settings to your liking. ​A quick tip: I initially had some trouble connecting the earbuds to the app. However, after I changed the region to India in the app settings, everything connected instantly. If you're having trouble pairing, try switching the country/region in the app!
