It starts out deceptive - the box is much bigger than with comparable products, but the box is also lighter in weight than comparable products. Give it a shot I thought. Well the mount itself comes in two pieces - a flat piece welded/manufactured perpendicularly to a round tube for mounting against the wall, and a round tube with the adjustable holders on the end which mounts on the round tube of the first piece and is made stronger with two hex-headed screws into the round piece to hold it firmly in place (hex wrench included). The pieces themselves are under 5lbs, but they are well machined, strong, and will be gentle on your bike. They are also adjustable, so not only can you adjust the distance from the wall you are trying to achieve (crucial in my installation), but also the angle with which your bicycle will sit once mounted. And its easy to adjust either.My issue, well, I needed to mount it in a particular spot on the wall to avoid hitting the car door when opened. Of course there were no studs there. And yes, you do really need to mount this into studs. But it does come with plastic anchors for the nice long, strong screws provided. I thought since they were provided, I'd try them. Well we must have super thin wallboard in our garage, and lets just say the plastic anchors were not happy and it just didn't work out well trying to install the provided screws into them with such a thin wall. Once mounting my bike the top two anchors simply tore through the wall board so follow your instincts and mount this only to studs. Once affixed to a stud, this bike mount rocks!

The wall mount is made of thick and strong metal with a powder coat finish. It looks sleek and durable, and it can support almost any bike. It has two arms with silicone-like rubber pads that protect the bike frame from scratches and dents. The arms can move up and down independently with a twist of a knob, which is great for fine-tuning the bike placement and angle.This bike wall mount is a good product that helps me organize my garage.

This is a high quality bike wall mount. The mount itself weighs 4lbs but feels much heavier than that because the metal used is so thick. The silicone-like rubber pads are soft and grippy and, again, high quality. Definitely follow the directions of using a socket and wrench to screw in the bolts and not a drill. Each of the arms move independently with a twist of the knob in the back. It's a geared twist and not where you loosen the knob move the arm then tighten down the knob. It moves up and down as you twist the knob which is great for any on-the-fly adjustments.
