I'm guessing it's not the audio's format fault because blu-ray can sound truly amazing, it has to be the recording process
Not a big fan of Amy but this album is top notch. No wonder it won so many awards.Given the Blu-Ray audio format I was expecting A LOT more. From an audio quality this Blu-Ray doesn't hold a candle compared to my Verve Records Astrud Gilberto CD from the 90's. I'm guessing it's not the audio's format fault because blu-ray can sound truly amazing, it has to be the recording process. Don't get me wrong...there's nothing WRONG per-se...it's just that the instruments sound digital...I don't feel drawn into the music, so the 4*.Maybe the LP would be a better choice.My hi-fi system is pretty neutral, slightly "warm": Dali speakers, Bowers&Wilkins sub, Atacama stands, Oppo 103 player, etc

I loved the lady and her music, this c.d is not disapointing, great value for money for one of the legendary ladies ofmusic.

5-star album / 3-star Blu-Ray Audio Release
The purpose of an Amazon review is as much about the product itself, as the album, I fell. 'Back to Black' is a classic, seminal album - in my opinion, one of the greatest albums by a female singer ever. The Blu-Ray Audio release is a huge disappointment, and I am awarding it three stars. The sound quality is not as good as the CD: I have both "Nightclubbing" and "Disco" by Grace Jones on Blu-Ray Audio and the sound quality on those is simply superb. Not sure what happened with this release from Amy, but I would stick with the CD or the MP3.

Well if you have heard the singles or seen the vids on tv and liked them well youll love the album, cupid on cd 2 of the delux album is just reggae toe tappin fantastic and as good as the detriot spinners no1 version many years ago!! (if not better) this albums not as heavy as frank and very commercial compared too frank too! buy it and belive me you wont have it off the cd player!!
