Review: Goated Review: Beautiful collection; covers some of Busiek's earliest Worlds Finest issues, and the fantastic Secret Identity mini series before jumping into the 8 part post Infinite Crisis Up Up and Away story done with Geoff John's. Where I criticize the book a bit is it wraps up with only the first half of the Camelot Falls arc, which DC also just put out last year in a deluxe edition; this is billed as a volume 1, so assuming we get volume 2 look for it there along with what I'm guessing will be the next 20 issues filling out Busiek's run. Not sure what they'll pad out volume 2 with, maybe some JLA issues, but looking forward to it as it'll contain some issues I don't think have ever been collected yet. Great book with some great bonus stuff like story pitches; I'd have maybe gone the omnibus route, or added the back 6 issues oh Camelot falls into here moving like Man of Steel annual 5 to the next volume. Great book, great stories.

Dude, this book is thick!! I love how it looks in the shelve. Haven't read it yet, but I just love this one right off the bat. I recommend it if you're a Superman fan.

and you'll get a few other bonuses! Secret identity is worth the price of admission alone. There are a few older stories that certainly feel of their eras. Camelot falls is gearing up to be very interesting, but just reading this book will leave you feeling a bit incomplete. You'll have to seek out the rest of the story elsewhere.

I was so excited to get this but to be honest I was disappointed. The book is a beautiful edition and I liked the paper they used. As for the writing I thought it was subpar. I didn’t like the overuse of the thought captions. I didn’t like the secret identity mini series, neither the writing or the art. The rest was issues from around 2006, not my favorite era. Again the usage of thought captions like Superman was writing his story. Then there was the half of Camelot falls. I really don’t like leaving negative reviews but I care about the characters. I’m looking forward to a bigger selection of Superman books. Superman means different things to different people and people can find the ones they like best.
