Saves water and super easy to adjust
Heads The pics speak for themselves. Using rain bird with SAM almost eliminates the low head drainage. Both of the rainbird 5004+ spray rotors are nice rotor’s and work fantastic for my yard; however the SAM units are a step up for sure. Ok a little back story, I’m a home builder and not a irrigation specialist. I do have some knowledge in this area. My previous home system was an all hunter system, (I thought they were the best units when my installer recommended it, his words) I had to always adjust them and they’re difficult to adjust for someone without the expertise and time. Bounce forward to a large area to water (a new lawn to water-acre and a half) and with the pricing on everything today I decided to install my own underground system. I did try the underground heads and garden hose with a nice timer; and it worked ok for smaller areas (2k sqft) however it took me approx. 9 hours to water the other 50k+ sqft @ 20 mins per garden hose zone area; three garden hoses and higher end above ground impact sprinkler. Very time consuming to manually water my lawn, so I decided to take on installing an underground 20k sqft system, most of my front yard, myself with a tremendous amount of research and planning from all three big irrigation companies websites. I rented a trencher, purchased all my products and got busy lol 2 weeks later after work and weekends I have about 12-14k sqft completed. Some of the research says to install a drain valve on/near the low grade sprinkler heads to reduce the water drainage from the heads- done- however the heads still drained excessively from the heads. See the pics. One head drained well over 7 mins after shutting the system down (a standard 5004+ rains bird rotor head) the 5004+ rotor head worked flawlessly however I didn’t like the low head run off (with a drained valve installed) so I purchased the 5004+PCSR SAM and I couldn’t be happier. This rotor head regulates the pressure to each head (45 PSI) and almost eliminated any low head drainage. Did I mention how easy the units were to adjust? Super easy!! And performed flawlessly!! If you have any slope in your yard-look at these rotors and hopefully you’ll be as impressed as I am. Lastly the items shipped quickly 2 days Thx to prime and easily installs with a 3/4” swing arm. Swing arms are also the way to go when installing the sprinkler heads makes life a little easier. But do your research. Hope this helps someone.

Work well with low pressure
Low main water pressure made my previous Toro heads not cover the yard completely. I had to use the 1.5GPH nozzles to maintain enough pressure for full coverage. ... the Toro also had replaceable nozzles, but I did not have them....

Great sprinkler
This product is great. I wanted the option to turn off certain sprinkler heads at times (when cars are parked on the driveway so they don’t get sprayed). It was very easy to install, adjusting the settings and turning it off is very simple. Only criticism is minor, the instructions were a little tough to follow on a first read but after re-reading and trying some settings, it made sense. Would recommend!

Very effective. Not very expensive.
Pressure regulating & anti-siphon features for ~ $2 more per unit than standard fare @ big box home centers. I've been replacing with these as my older sprinkler heads wear out. Very pleased with their performance.

High Quality Rotating Sprinkler Head
Rainbird has a great product here. Once set-up, the sprinkler head is maintenance free. Comes with an assortment of nozzles thst produce the advertised gallonsge and pattern. I do, however, prefer the impact sprinklers as the coversge radius is better attained with this type of sprinkler head. The impact heads jyst require more maintenace and upkeep.

Excellent choice to replace Rain Bird 5000 rotator sprinkler heads
I had Rain Bird 5000 rotator sprinkler heads installed 20 years ago and some of them are showing signs of wear. I replaced those worn rotators with these 5000-plus rotar heads. They were easy to install and I like the new pressure regulated feature, and being able to turn the water flow off from the top cap of the rotator head. They work great.

By 5000 Plus
If you think about buying regular 5000, stop, buy 5000PLUS. Even-though as described they only have the additional features, but these push way better. Once I swapped one I ordered more and replaced all of my heads.
