Difficult To Move
This base is certainly heavy and holds a 2.7m. umbrella safely, though even this weight base (25 kg) will rock or tip if it is very windy. The surface is ‘smooth’ as seen in the photos but obviously has a gritty feel because it is a concrete moulding. The surface has been painted black but it scratches relatively easily and shows the natural grey of the concrete. Two main disadvantages:Because it is completely smooth it is difficult to get a good grip to lift it. I also have a wrought iron base (same weight) which has pierced holes in it which allows a finger hold together with the pole support makes lifting it easier. The Outsunny base has 4 plastic pads fitted to holes in the base that it sits on and a plastic rim which fits over the edge. Neither are glued in place. When moving it (on patio slabs) which I do by tilting it at an angle on the edge and rolling it along on the edge, the plastic rim comes off and has to be refitted. The purpose of having this type of umbrella is to be able to move it around as necessary but this makes it more difficult. Also some of the plastic pads ‘stuck’ to the slabs and pulled out of the base.

Heavy but not finished well. Rubber cones off and concrete chips off.
Really heavy so very stable.Problem with rubber edging keeps coming off. Which exposes the concrete base to chipping off...

Heavy with flaws
The base is heavy and sturdy... however the plastic rim is flimsy & comes off. The only way to move the base is to kind of drag it on its side to prevent the base being damaged. As we haven't had much sun I've barely used the parasol so I haven't had to move mine so it's not damaged. However previous reviewers have attached damaged bases... for the price I'd expect a better rim

Good but could be better.
A good product in many respects due to its hefty and satiable base but just like other similar models, the poor spot welding of the pole shaft to the base indicates it’s not built to last.@?

Heavy enough against the wind

Good if kept in one place
Excellent delivery service. Product itself is a little over priced. The plastic rim came away on first day and some of the base has already chipped away. If the base stayed in one position it would be perfect but I move it (roll it) to position where I need it on my decking hence the chipping.

Excellent
Solid heavy base, used mostly for a large rotary washing line. The line post is held securly no movement at all in windy weather.

Very heavy!
Used for washing line! Very stable and height of line raised! This works as long as you are reasonably tall.
