Not quite minimalist, but makes a good transition shoe
I've been wearing Merrell and New Balance minimalist shoes for a while. From the picture, I was dubious about this being anything close to a minimalist shoe, but I did want something with a slightly thicker sole. I coach high school soccer, which is a spring sport, in my area. That means that we'll spend two months outside in near freezing weather, and cold feet are a serious downer, for me. The shoe has a lot of mesh, so I have a different issue, but at least the soles of my feet won't be cold.If you're used to wearing minimalist shoes, the sole will feel noticeably thicker, but your foot sits down in that foam midsole. Also, the footbed is quite flat, despite the way the shoe looks, so it IS a fairly easy transition. There is a bit more of a drop than you would have with most minimalist shoes, but it feels like it's only a few more millimeters than other minimalist shoes I have, just enough that you notice it, but not enough to really feel awkward.Honestly, the only thing I consistently notice when I wear these is that the soles are somewhat thicker than the other shoes I wear. The 'barefoot feel' with most other shoes is gone, but that's what I needed. I'd say this is a good shoe for those who are transitioning to minimalist running shoes (they do offer more cushioning, but they still feel very similar to shoes with a thinner sole. Your mechanics and stride can adjust before you make the jump to really thin soles, if you need that.) They would also be good for someone who isn't worried about minimalist shoes but wants something without all the over-pronation/under-pronation stuff they add to most running shoes, but doesn't want to run in flats or anything quite that thin.

Excellent shoes & minimal
The Merrill's fit well and are comfy. As minimal shoes they don't have great cushioning but if that's what you need these fit the bill

A girl in a guy's shoe
I struggled to find a gym shoe that would accommodate my bunion on one foot, and a neuroma on the other. The wide toe box is perfect, my toes can spread out in comfort, and there is no stitching or anything rubbing in the bunion area. I added a gel heel pad to give a little cushioning. They really are "barefoot" shoes and I did not want to be that barefooted. I use them for the treadmill, bike and everyday walking. I wear a 10 shoe in women's and the 8.5 in mens fit perfectly. The shoe in women's was not wide enough in front for me. They look very unisex and cute. I did not have a break in time or any discomfort with these shoes. Perhaps if you are a runner there may be a break in period for your feet/legs if you haven't been wearing a barefoot type shoe. They are super lightweight and also reflective for night use. I bought them in the gray/blue also, the fit is exactly the same.

Uncomfortable After Awhile
These have been good shoes. They feel solid and you can tell they have good quality. However, I did find the toebox to be very constricting while the rest of the shoe fit well. This made prolonged use uncomfortable. They have held up well, but I do not think I would purchase this shoe again.

Great pair of shoes
I have fussy feet and after wearing the Merrell Moab for years, I decided to give these a try. These shoes are feather light. They feel as if they are almost not there. The soles are just as supporting and comfortable as the Moab but without the weight. They are great for walking and hiking as I do not get the ache that I usually get after a walk or hike with usual tennis or running shoes. Great fit and wear. Would highly recommend these!

So far, so good
I took these shoes on an initial 3 mile trail run. They fit a little tight, but snug is good, right? There was no chaffing and my feet were comfortable. The sole isn't shaped as I would normally expect (my toes are probably a little longer than average), but I hope that it will mould to my feet in time.
