Great little DAP ... especially for TIDAL users
Picked up the HiBy M300 as a compact, affordable DAP and it’s turned out to be a really solid choice. It’s quick, responsive, and runs Android smoothly, so using streaming apps like TIDAL feels no different to using a phone, just without draining your phone battery. **** Please note: For TIDAL Users: I picked up 2 before the M300 that said you could run Tidal as an app - you couldn't. Using the M300 you CAN download the TIDAL app from Google Store, install it and run it. You CAN also download trackes/playlists without any issue **** Sound quality is clean and punchy, with good clarity and separation. It doesn’t try to sound overly warm or coloured, which I like, and it pairs very well with IEMs and easy-to-drive headphones. Plenty of detail without being sharp or fatiguing. The size is a big plus. It’s genuinely pocketable, light, and comfortable to use one-handed. Battery life has been good for everyday listening, and overall it feels well put together for the price. If you want a simple, modern DAP for streaming and local files that sounds good and just works, the M300 is an easy recommendation. For TIDAL users, at this price, to me its a no-brainer purchase

Perfect for listening to music and audiobooks
I love this little music player. I wanted something I could use to listen to music and audiobooks without using my phone. This does the trick nicely. I can download my audiobooks from audible and my music from Amazon music over WiFi without any cables or needing to connect to a pc and listen to them whilst on the go. Anything you usually get the app on the App Store for, you can use. It’s incredibly versatile. The battery is great, the music quality is good through earbuds, the build is solid, the portable size is just right, and it screams class. I wish there were more accessories for it, but the player itself is amazing. Not the cheapest, but not expensive, and it is well worth it. Very happy with my HIBY. It’s like a smaller and better version of the old classic IPod and exactly what I wanted and more. The only thing it lacks is dab radio when not in WiFi range, but does have fm and means my other half is less likely to pinch it to listen to the match whilst out and about.

Battery does not last as long as advertised, only 12-15 hours instead of the 29 hours
This is by far the best MP3 player I've bought on Amazon, it works very similar to Sony in functionality. Since it is android based I have downloaded other music apps as the Hibi app that comes with it is not very good functionally but has some great sound options settings which i haven't figured out yet. However the only grudge I have is that it is advertised as having a 29 hours battery life for playing music but it only seems to give me about 12-15 hours of play and the product support is only a manufacturer email and they are not helpful and give generic replies and excuses. So I'm quite disappointed. Would have given 5 stars if it was not for that. Also mine came with no screen protector so I had to buy it separately. It has a nice clear bright screen

RETURNED - Very slow file movement, smaller and harder to read screen than expected
Build quality is excellent, buttons are crisp and easy to grab, it's nice and light, however the touch screen wasn't that good, didn't like any of my styluses ethier, i kept missing or hitting the wrong thing - could be my finger size. It's as expceted, nothing was wrong with it nor wasn't what was advetised. Moving files from within the player itself was noticeably slower compared to doing the same on a smartphone. It also crashed doing this, moving from an SD card to internal storage. Additionally, the smaller screen resolution was harder to deal, scaling wasn't great, it is smaller than you'll expect!

Another step forward for DAP’s
Like a lot of people I suspect, I had fallen into the routine of using my smartphone for listening to music, as it’s super easy to have all your music in one place and it goes everywhere with you. Not that I am an audiophile, but I always want to get the best I can from my devices, and that meant using a separate DAC/AMP with my phone and wired headphones. Generally this works, but what it does introduce is a heap of usability issues of having to carry cables, adapters, two devices and finally headphones. This for me was not sustainable. Enter the HiBy Digital M300. My main aim was two-fold, I wanted a player that would simplify my set up, and secondly would sound good. My previous DAP (Activo CT-10) fixed the first ask, but the second, sound quality was very lacklustre. So after a lot of watching reviews, I wanted a device that was small, connected to the major streaming platforms (I personally use Apple Music), and would allow me to store my music offline. It came down between this and the HiBy R4, but in the end, the specs are very similar and the M300 is smaller. I have been using the M300 for a few days, and I am not disappointed on two fronts. Firstly, for a small device, it is perfectly usable for someone with big hands like me! The Android 13 software whilst not lightning quick, is fast and responsive, and my music library of over 300GB of downloaded music scrolls perfectly well. The other aspect was the sound quality, and I am pleased to say this is a marked step up from my last DAP device. Using no EQ, MSEB or PEQ at all, I have found the M300 to sound clean, crisp and fairly neutral. I have used a variety of headphones and IEM’s including a pair of planar magnetic beasts, and whilst I have to push to volume from the M300 to +70% they drive them fine and sound good. All this in a small, compact and flexible device that can sit in a pocket and I avoid cable hell! I bought this through Amazon warehouse, and got a bargain at £149. In my opinion, this is excellent value for money at full price, offering a lot of functionality and great sound quality for everyday listening. I use Apple Music along with a microSD card in the M300 to store my downloaded high resolution lossless files. Works perfectly.

Was thumbs up, now Thumbs down.
Good sound, great quality, so good I bought a second one for my wife. If thats not a good recommendation I don't know what is. +Update+ Whilst as a player it sounds really good, transferring music to memory card via USB is virtually impossible, constantly crashing out and having to restart the unit for it to be recognised again. The only reliable way to is to take out the memory card and use an adapter, right pain in the backside. If you search on the internet you will find many people complaining of the same problem. Because of this I have down rated my review to 2 stars.

Small, compact, lightweight, easy to use ... excellent
A very impressive player, especially when considering the low price. Does everything I want from a DAP, but comes in a much smaller form factor. I've had DAPs that cost 3 times as much as this one, but I don't think they were as good. Some people might want a 4.4mm balanced output, in which case this isn't the DAP to buy, and battery life isn't great. But I found it easy to set up and use, it was much quicker scanning my music library than other players, and it has Android so if you don't like the installed Hibi music player app you can easily install a different one (in my case Musicolet, which has everything I want, with a nice user interface, and is FREE) When compared to much more expensive players, this is just as good, if not better, so it is any easy 5 stars from me.
