Follow the instructions for beautiful cubes!
Follow the directions and they come out awesome. As you can see in the photo, the cube on the right is from a basic, square mold. The ice on the left is from this tray. It’s easy to do and the ice comes out great. I had it our regular pull-out freezer which caused a lot of vibration, so some of the cubes have a really cool air bubble design inside of them, but they’re all clear. Both of these ice are made with the same exact water and in the same exact freezer for the same exact amount of time. The unit itself is fairly large, so make sure that you have a spot for it to sit flat. It’s 10”L x 5” H x 6”D. Luckily, I have a smaller fridge/freezer combo in the game room and I put it in there for the second round of ice. I’m confident that this will come out even nicer the second time.

Works well if you fill it properly
This works well if you fill it right. You can’t fill the tray all the way up or it leaks out, leave a little space in each cube and it works well. The ice is not crystal clear in my freezer (using distilled water) but it’s miles better than refrigerator ice.

Clear ice cubes
Easy to use and actually gives you clear ice cubes. You can tell this was well made and will last a long time. Great value

delivers clear square ice cubes - as promised.
Delivers on it's promise of clear square ice cubes. The book, The cocktail codex, devotes a full five or so pages to the science behind clear ice cube -- the phenomenon or physics of freezing water from the top down by insulating the sides to deliver clear ice. As I said in a different review of the round ball clear ice maker, you won't get ice the day you fill this unit with water. It takes a day or two or three, but it works. And the ice it delivers is clear and elegant.

Perfectly clear cubes, simply.
Works great, and doesn’t take up much room in the freezer. I used regular tap water, and the cubes are perfectly clear. Buy this!

Room for improvement
After much trial and error experimentation to get this to work, It does make ice but is highly dependent on water quality, time & temperature. When using plain cold tap water the ice formed is not very clear, bubbles, cloudy etc… Directions suggest using distilled water, that will never happen, worst tasting water money can buy. I get fantastic results from an old 6 pack size Coleman Cooler filled about 2/3 full of water in a 0 degree freezer for @ 18 hours. This product’s design can be improved. My best results come from using very hot tap water and around 20 to 22 hours in a 0 degree freezer. Doing this results in almost clear ice, no bubbles, no cloudiness. My results suggest an increased volume of water and perhaps better insulation to slow down the process of ice formation so as not having to resort to using distilled water and/or hot water, 24 to 30 hours is way too long a time in the freezer.

Quality product with EXCELLENT service
This tray works as-advertised. Super easy! I finally stopped using the old igloo cooler and mallet. Consistently good clear cubes. Follow the directions and dial in the perfect time to pull them out of the freezer and you’ll be happy. Since my purchase date, the plastic tray cracked in a couple of places. I reached out and the replaced it immediately! I was just hoping to buy the part. GREAT SERVICE!

Messy, poor design, no paper instructions or documentation
Does it make clear ice? Yes. I can't fault it for that. However: It does not come with any paper instructions or documentation. You only have the 4 step instructions in the product description. The first step calls you to "fill with water". However it does not specify an amount of water, and there is no fill line. You just have to guess, and you will find out if you put to much water when you get to step 2 "place the plastic silicone mold". The water will overflow from every orifice of the product. There is no indicator for how frozen the ice is. Again you just have to guess. You will probably make the mistake where you thought it was done, start to remove the silicone sleeve (which is a pain to get out), and water gets everywhere. I don't see this product being durable enough to withstand average use. This is going to remain at the back of my freezer as a novelty for when I have guests over, unless I return it. Also, the clear plastic top does not fit well.

Does exactly as it says. Foam outside does get pushed out when freezing from the ice but the final results are unreal. Follow the instructions and wait the time. Ended up buying 9 for all my shareholders.

As advertised. I've done one batch so far and I am very happy! It was a little bit tricky understand how to remove the silicone form because I did not want to break anything by pulling in the wrong direction. I let it stay for 5-10minutes and then I could lift the plastic tray up that contained the silicon tray. Basically it is only attached to the ice below the tray by the small piece of ice in the hole beneath the ice cubes. I took mine out after ~30h and they were mostly clear! There were some bubbles trapped and I might have cause scratches on some, but they should look very nice in a glass with something to drink. It was just one cube in the middle that for some reason rose above the others and got cloudy at the top, could have been med handling the tray getting into the fridge. The bottom tray ice didn't look to bad either but it wasn't fully frozen when I picked it up, potentially if it stays longer it could be used for some fun sculpting, or just hack it up in smaller pieces. I choose this clear ice maker because of the lid. I noticed that other open silicon molds picked up a scent from the fridge after a while, and that transferred to the cubes. This was helped by putting the silicon molds in the oven at 120C for a while but the cover should help with not getting the smell in the first place. Took some three weeks to get to Sweden. For the price this is perfect, I am very happy!

Description says it takes 24-30 hours, the box says 36-48 hours. It's taken minimum 48 hours so far. If you pull it out before it's frozen you've wasted 2 whole days. Some instructions would have been helpful as I'm just guessing as I go along which is annoying. I am yet to get a batch of perfect ice, however the space that should have the cloudy excess has some very clear ice which with an ice pick would be great to use.
