Okay, I was expecting a throwaway cap to wear for a quick errand. Yeah, no. This is thick wool, premium stitching and really good construct. The size was perfect and didn't need to be adjusted with the little pull-tab laces inside (so I tucked them under the band and forget about them). It's snug enough on the head so I'm not terrified it'll blow off when I leave the window down while I drive. There's no stretch--you get what you see. It's extremely comfortable, to the point you forget it's there.Maybe not a summer hat, given the thick wool and the lack of air holes. Your hair goes flat inside after an hour or two, but it's a closed hat. Your hair will go flat. In summer or high-heating, I'd expect some sweat. Haven't washed the newsboy yet, though, so I don't know how that will go, given the band. It's a good enough quality item, I might consider dry cleaning, instead.There's an unexpected expression on people's faces when they see it; everyone expects a basic ballcap. This is so not that. It gets noticed, so if you're a glorious little cinnamon roll of an introvert...this may not be the hat for you. Seriously, I've had four conversations with strangers about this hat so far.Really good value for a hat I'd expect to pay at least twice as much for, given the quality. Excellent purchase, and I'm looking forward to more snowy weather now.
