Always been a Sherlock fan from, the old black and white movies to recent ones.Takes you back to a time when the world was a safer place……

Taking time out from work I thought I would read all of the Sherlock Holmes adventures and they are all thoroughly entertaining - from the more famous novels to the more brief encounters.The short stories especially are pacey (and sometimes a little stretching in their results) and provide an interesting insight into the social times in which they were written - with many of the criminal motivations being as relevant today.I was immersed from the very start and have finished with a sense of sad fulfillment - much as the great detective has on having completed one job and being in wait of his next.Delicious reading and fabulous escapism.Great fun and very enjoyable.

I have been wanting to read this book for sometime. While reading the stories I could picture Jeremy Brett or Basil Rathbone playing one of our great fictional detectives. An easy read for everyone

This hardcover volume contains the complete works of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It contains "A Study in Scarlet", "The Sign of Four", "The adventures of Sherlock Holmes", "Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes", "The Return of Sherlock Holmes", the acclaimed classic, "The Hound of the Baskervilles", "The Valley of Fear", "His Last Bow", and "The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes". It really is the complete complete works. It tells of Watson's first meeting with Sherlock Holmes and all the small case they solve (or rather Holmes solves, Watson goes "ahhhh")The whole book is attractively bound and would make an excellent gift. The hard back cover and dust jacket make it look like it's worth alot more than Amazon charge!I would recommend this book to anyone, and I mean anyone. Most people who haven't read Sherlock Holmes turn their nose up at it. I was the same. Then I read it! After all, it's elementary, dear reader!!!!!! Sorry, couldn't resist!

I though the price was mistake, then I thought the quality must be awful. Neither were true. I paid £2.35 and the quality is as any other. Definitely recommend.

This is a very large book - and the font size is very tiny - because there's a lot in it! It presents the "complete Sherlock Holmes" adventures, written by Arthur Conan Doyle. Given that you can purchase this book - in hardback - for under £1 (secondhand) I have to highly recommend it! I paid £7 for a new copy, and was pleased with the quality.It's not quite 'complete' (as a new short story has been discovered since this volume was published). And it's certainly not a 'deluxe' edition ... if you're after something more aesthetically attractive, I would recommend  Sherlock Holmes 6-Book Boxed Set: Containing: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes, The Hound of the Baskervilles & The ... & The Sign of the Four (Collector's Library) .Notwithstanding the limitations of this volume, it's a good quality book - with all the classic Holmes adventures in it. If you're after a reasonably priced edition, this is a good product.

Great books

These are by far the highest quality hardcover books I have. Beautifully bound, gorgeous colours. What a pleasure to hold and read. Given their compact size, the type is on the small side. The finest way to enjoy Sherlock. I highly recommend this collection. Be aware: sadly, this beautiful collection DOES NOT include THE CASEBOOK of SHERLOCK HOLMES (12 stories). I can’t figure why.
