It was everything I remembered and loved!
I bought this game to play and not use as a collector's item. I was super happy with it! It was everything I remembered playing as a child. I will say I was kinda upset I bought the game for $123 and a week later I looked it up for a friend and it was like $80/85.

Good Game
New And Tasty is almost a 100% like the original. In some ways it is better and in some ways it is different. If you like the original than I can guarantee you'll like this one.

Worst controls in a long time
This game had potential but the controls are so clumsy, the game is ruined. You have to push and hold to move Abe - he doesn't just go when you push, so it's very hard to get him to move just a little. You can get around this with tip-toe, but sometimes you need more speed to make a jump. And when you stop, he keeps going for a step or two. The whole thing is very non-reactive/non-responsive. Then, when there's an object to interact with, most of them won't work if you just run up to them and hit square. You have to wait for the camera to catch up to your position, and then square will work. Grabbing ledges is clunky. You have to face it, be in the right spot, and leap. If you are barely off he will stand there or just jump in place, which makes it awkward when avoiding enemies. The puzzles are sometimes random, like you have to go through portal x to end up at portal y but you have no way of knowing that's the one where x goes. So it's less intuitive puzzle-solving than trial-and-error. And there's a bunch of jump-timing, which is not puzzle solving at all. So if that's your sort of thing you might enjoy that more. But those were often tedious trial and error as well.
