Ideal for the job

I needed some simple plain muslin type cloth for covering and raising bread dough. I searched for the proper artisan bread cartouche which were eye wateringly expensive. Then I found these. Work perfectly. Great results. Nice quality yarn with a good even weave. Reassuringly weighty so will not blow away in a light draft as some of them do. Have now washed them a few times in the machine (in a washing net bag) and they’re fine. Perfect for sourdough Recommended.

The cloth is quite thick and tough. It’s a loss for sometimes the only thing I dislike are all the corners of the end seams finishing not as good as expected as you can see is from the photo

I don't believe these are made from linen. They are probably cotton, which would explain the sticking. Cheap for a reason. Avoid.

Absolutely rubbish, doesn’t do as it states.

I recently started making my own bread and bought these to help in the process. It works well in that dough doesn’t stick to it much and water beads off it really well. The only thing is it’s a bit “linty” when you receive it and the threads on the edges are kind of too messy (loose strands) and not clean cut. I don’t have much experience with these cloths so I’m not sure if they’re all like that or not.

After a year of using the proofing cloths they are still perfect. I use a bit of rice flour on them and they have never stuck to sourdough bread

Who Knew!?! I'm a sourdough baker and I've been using several cloths to proof my bread. Then I stumbled upon these. OMG! These are life changing! Durable, easy to launder, excellent to use on a surface for flouring your dough or covering and proofing. Made to last, you feel it in the cloth. Just the right thickness to be sturdy, yet flexible. I love the size. Covers several pans and excellent for proofing any bread, but especially baguettes. Excellent value for the money. Came in a 2 pack and I was thinking, originally, of gifting one to my niece but sorry, not sorry - ha ha - I'm keeping them both for myself!

I am loving this product because the cloths are large enough to completely cover a long loaf of challah bread! Also, they are made of linen and are very sturdy. Can be washed and reused again and again! 😁
