Are you tired of crummy ironing boards that get a dip in the middle, and rust, and creak, and sag? ME TOO. So I bought this board and I love it. I could tell right away that it's much better quality than the ones you get at a retail store. The board is wider than a standard board and has less of a point at the end. So you get more useful ironing surface. It adjusts to numerous heights so you can comfortably iron standing up or sitting down. The iron rest on the side is a great addition and leaves more space on the board for ironing. It feels really sturdy and heavy duty. I've been using it for almost a year now with no regrets.

I owned a Brabentia wide ironing board 20 years ago, loved using it (as weird as that sounds), and then “lost” it during a divorce... and I’ve longed for one ever since. These are so much nicer than any other ironing board out there. My new ironing board arrived today, and it’s just as sturdy and as well made as the one I used to have, which is so nice, since many companies seem to be downgrading their build quality these days. My ironing board was MADE IN LATVIA (not made in China, like nearly all the cheaply built ones you find from the discount/big box stores). And it’s incredibly sturdy. It doesn’t wobble or shift as you use it. The rack underneath the board is removable, but I‘ll keep it attached since it’s very handy to use for items waiting to be ironed/folded items that have been ironed, for holding a basket of hangers, for holding tailor’s hams or wool pressing mats, or if you have a steam generator for an iron, as long as the generator weighs less than 5 pounds or so. The rack is quite sturdy, and the iron rest is also sturdy and stable, with an adjustable arm to help secure your iron. The ironing surface is wider and a bit shorter than ones found on standard boards, so it’s easier and faster to iron linens and fabrics for quilting and sewing. But it’s not too wide for ironing clothing, and the small amount of board length lost poses no issues, really. This is a perfect proportion, in my opinion. If you’ve only had a narrow “standard” ironing board before, it might take some getting used to, but after using one of these a couple times, I doubt you’ll ever want to go back to a narrow one! There’s really no reason to want to. I also like that the board adjusts to a taller height than my old one, which is easier on my arthritic neck and back, but it can also be adjusted lower, to be used from a seated position (I’m disabled, so this was important to me to have the option). And it doesn’t squeak at all (some are like nails on a chalkboard!) when you open or close it. This is so much more stable than a more narrow board with the same style legs, and 1,000 times more stable than all of those T-leg boards out there! I plan to keep mine set up most of the time, but will mount a wall holder for those times when I need to put it away. The ironing board comes with a 10-year warranty and registration instructions (so save the printed card and large card stock insert with product info, since your barcode for registration is there). I didn’t think I would ever be at a point in my life where I was reviewing an ironing board. However, working the sort of job that I do and being a large man, both in height and girth, a standard size ironing board wasn’t doing anything but making me frustrated and hurting my lower back. I decided to take a chance put down $120, to give this extra large ironing board a shot. It is incredible. My lower back doesn’t hurt. I can iron at it for an hour or two hours and it doesn’t hurt. I can put my spray starch on the actual ironing board while I iron, and the starch doesn’t fall off and hit the floor, or while I adjust my pants, the iron doesn’t wobble and fall off and hit the floor. It is incredibly sturdy. It’s big, it’s heavy, and unless you are doing something you probably shouldn’t be doing on an ironing board, my guess is it will hold up. I couldn’t be happier with it and I strongly recommend it to any man or woman needing to iron large articles of clothing that are becoming incredibly frustrated with a standard sized ironing board.

This is the best ironing board I have ever owned. It checks all the boxes, perfect size, weight & design. Build quality is superb. It was packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. Even if these wonderful environmental things typically don't drive your purchasing decisions this product is well worth the few extra bucks you pay for it. The quality is immediately noticeable upon unboxing. How often do you actually buy an ironing board? Just do it right and get this Brabantia Ironing Board C. You won't be sorry.

I really like the width of this ironing board. Great for quilting. Very sturdy the way the legs are connected. But I've only had this 4 months and the cover has ripped only by setting the iron on it. The cover is very thin. At some point I'll have to find a thicker one. I would still recommend it.

FIRST, THIS IS A REVIEW FOR BRABANTIA... background: I love to iron! I ordered 3 Bartnelli (I don't love to iron THAT MUCH) but each and every one was either unstable, dented, or damaged and defective in some way. VERY DISAPPOINTING AS ITALIAN PRODUCTS SUCH AS FABRICS AND LEATHER GOODS ARE KNOWN TO BE THE VERY BEST. BUT each ITALIAN BARTNELLI was returned and I ordered a BRABANTIA. It was supposedly delivered while I was at home, but I never got it. Amazon immediately ordered another. I have used it for a few hours: HERE'S THE SCOOP. It was perfect; no dents, damages etc. It is stable and wide. There is an ample iron rest, but it is metal (boo). The release lever works, there are several height adjustments and the BEST part is the legs have locking clip that very securely locks the legs in place for storage. Minor things noticed: 1. the metal rest is metal unlike the Bartnelli; I have easily found a solution as I bought a silicon pad for it and 2. the tip end could be a bit longer as I iron our pillowcases. So despite these very MINOR items, THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE BARTNELLI.

Worth it! Saving $ at the dry cleaners by ironing at home and this is an overdue upgrade from the standard wobbly board I’d owned for years. Thick padding. Wider area. Not any heavier than a cheap board. Stays closed when moving. And best of all doesn’t wobble!

I relinquished my cheap metal ironing board for the extra large Brabantia—and could not be more pleased. I chose it for its larger ironing surface because I iron sheets and, sometimes, drapes or sheers too. Also, it was the only extra-wide ironing board that didn't mess up one end with an iron stand (I find that iron stands really get in my way and large items get tangled or pinched in them.) When the Brabantia arrived, I realized I should have bought a quality board long ago: it is completely sturdy—doesn't wobble or shift at all. It can be set very smoothly to any height, even if I wanted to iron sitting down, or if, like my son, I were six feet+. If you have the room and intend to iron conscientiously, buy one. I could not be more pleased.

Great ironing board. Strong steady board, built to last but my only disappointment is can't change the ironing board cover because the part that holds the iron is pushed up against the iron board making it impossible to remove cover without ripping it.

It is hevy compared to our old one but much more stable and a lot better quality a little tricky to erect but when you get used to it its fine
