Strong winch
Great piece of kit very strong easy to use and good build quality

Works well when you know how.
The winch works well but you you need to know, "curtesy of a previous review" what to do to get it to function by use of liberal lubrication and a screwdriver to lift the ratchet pawl clear of the ratchet teeth. Also a small clamp to hold the release lever(hands free) helps. The winch works well when put to use, after aforesaid preparation, and is very efficient. There are no instructions! supplier please note and remedy!

awkward to use
Not expecting much for the price, but its very awkward to use. Also it can only pull around 1metre maximum at a time. If its a heavy load, the cable pinches in on itself on the reel, and is very difficult to release, due to the way its designed.

Brilliant
Awesome , strong winch , I mean for 20 quid you can't go wrong , I would advise chucking some grease into the mechanism and get someone to help you wind it out fully and back in a few times as mine was stiff when it arrived but with some grease and some hard work it's now smooth and free , it's done an awesome job of pulling my boat that has sunk and was stuck in the rive bed , really impressed for the price I paid

Once used a couple of times - great.
The comments about getting it free to use in the first place are merited but once overcome, with the addition of a good amount of lubrication, it does what it should. Cannot comment on maximum strength except that it pulled out the tree stump effectively. Can foresee a number of uses. Advice - persevere at the outset.
