Real Pepoerminty
These were typical peppermints from Brach's. I think Brach's are consistently good, especially the mint flavors. The little peppermint balls Arte individually wrapped, with peppermint centers that melt n your mouth. .They really don't get better than these.

Just because it has the movie title "ᗴᒪᖴ" doesn't mean it's good.
I'm obsessed with the movie ᗴᒪᖴ and it's been my favorite Christmas movie since 2004. When I saw they made candies- I couldn't wait to try them because, duh, they would be delicious right? Candy is a "food group" after all Wrong! I opened this jolly little bag of candies into the candy bowl and couldn't wait to dig in! Five seconds later, I spit it right out. One flavor after the other. The shapes were the only thing that connected them to the movie. The flavors were awful! Like "you sit on a throne of lies" awful. And, they were stale. There was no amount of "Christmas Cheer" that was going to pass that cast of adorable creatures off. Not even the kids wanted them. I paid double what the retail price was for them by purchasing them on Amazon only to find them in a store the next week. Figures, lol. The packaging and shapes give you the warm-fuzzies of the movie, but that's exactly where that cherished movie memory stopped for me. Maybe just skip it and buy some Maple Syrup instead. Hope you didn't mind my few movie references:)

Hits and Misses
First off, I am a person who loves Brach's candy corn. If you don't like candy corn, you aren't going to like these Elf Mellowcremes. Mine arrived fresh, with the waxy bite, but not too hard. I found these on sale right after Halloween for under $3, good sale, Amazon. The Toasted Marshmallow Snowmans are the first flavor I tried. If there is marshmallow flavoring there, it is very mild. These are also packed with maple and peppermint flavors, so the snowmen have picked up the flavor from those. They taste like sugar, very little marshmallow taste until it melts on your tongue a bit and you can taste the middle. M&Ms Smores did a good job this fall with their toasted marshmallow S'mores Campfire M&Ms, these, not so much.Next, the Frosted Sugar Cookie Whales. I love things flavored like sugar cookies or birthday cakes, from inedible candles, to the real things, to candies. But these taste just like artificial vanilla sugar. I don't taste any cookie. It's also picked up flavor from the maple and peppermint candies. Then there's the Maple Syrup Elf Hats. It's not trying to be real maple, it's definitely trying to be the corn syrup that's flavored like maple. I guess that fits with the movie though. This, to me, is the worst flavor in the bag. Finally, there's the Peppermint Candy Canes. These are the best, probably saved me from being completely disappointed with my purchase. Brach's knows how to do peppermint candies, and these are no different. They taste just like Brach's candy canes and soft peppermints, but in a candy cane form. If the whole bag was these, I'd be happy. I use these as a palate cleanser after eating the not so good flavors in this bag. It's great at least half of the candies in this bag are the peppermint ones. So, overall, I'm probably not going to buy these again this winter. Are they gross enough though that I sent them straight to the garbage? No. I'll eat them. After this, I am probably going to pass on the Elf candy canes, which follow the same flavor profile. If you have a friend who really dislikes candy corn, they'll really dislike these. Maybe a good prank gift. If you love any and all candy corn, try these!

Like candy corn only with winter flavors
This mix was tasty and did substitute well for a mix. I make using candy corn. The only difference was that this mix includes flavors like mint that changed my peanut mixture and took some getting used to. Overall, it was good.

Good solo or in hot cocoa
I love all things peppermint and these Brach's Holiday Soft Peppermint Candies are becoming a favorite. Not only do I love just popping one in my mouth to get my mint fix, but I also love dropping one in a cup of hot cocoa or some peppermint tea for an added burst of flavor. They melt easily and taste wonderful. Thanks, Brach's! Keep making these and I will keep buying them. From, a huge peppermint lover.
