I've been trying to cut back on sugar for health reasons and let me tell you, the sugar-free syrup situation out there is pretty grim. Most of them taste like you're pouring sweetened medicine on your pancakes. I've tried probably 4 or 5 different brands and they all had this weird aftertaste that just ruined breakfast. So when my nutritionist recommended ChocZero I was skeptical but figured I'd give it one more shot. Honestly I was blown away the first time I used it. It actually tastes like real maple syrup. Not identical obviously, but way closer than anything else I've tried. There's no weird chemical aftertaste, no bitter notes, just a nice maple flavor that works perfectly on pancakes and waffles. My girlfriend did a blind taste test between this and regular syrup and she said she could tell the difference but it wasn't dramatic. I keep this bottle in my fridge right next to my regular breakfast stuff. The consistency is good too - it's not super watery like some sugar-free syrups I've had that just slide right off your food. It's thick enough to actually coat your pancakes and stay put. I usually do like 2-3 tablespoons on a stack of protein pancakes and it's the perfect amount. What really sold me is that I can actually use this for other stuff too. I've been drizzling it on my overnight oats in the morning along with some berries and it adds that maple sweetness without spiking my blood sugar. I also use it in my coffee sometimes when I want a flavored coffee but don't want to use those sugary syrups. Just a little splash and it gives it a nice maple note. I'm trying to be better about my macros since I started working with a trainer, and this has been clutch for keeping my carbs down while still enjoying breakfast foods. Regular maple syrup has like 50+ grams of sugar per serving which is insane. This has zero and uses monk fruit as the sweetener instead. I was worried monk fruit would have that weird cooling effect like some sweeteners do, but I honestly don't notice it at all in this. The bottle lasts me a pretty long time too. I have pancakes or waffles probably twice a week and I've had this same bottle for like 2 months now and I'm only about halfway through. I refrigerate it after opening like it says on the label and it's stayed fresh the whole time. No weird separation or crystallization or anything. One of the best uses I found for it is making homemade granola. I used to make granola with honey but that's basically pure sugar. Now I mix oats, nuts, coconut flakes, and some of this syrup, bake it all together, and it comes out amazing. The maple flavor really comes through and it makes a great low-carb snack that I keep in a container on my kitchen counter. I've also used it as a glaze for salmon which sounds weird but trust me. Mix it with some soy sauce and garlic, brush it on salmon filets, and bake. It caramelizes really nicely and gives the fish this sweet-savory thing going on. My roommate tried it and was shocked when I told him the glaze was sugar-free. The ingredient list is pretty clean too which I appreciate. No weird preservatives or artificial stuff. Just monk fruit extract, water, natural flavors, and some thickeners. I try to avoid eating a bunch of processed junk and this feels like a reasonable option for someone trying to eat cleaner. Price-wise it's definitely more expensive than regular syrup but honestly worth it for me. I'd rather spend a bit more on something that tastes good and fits my diet than force myself to eat something gross or just give up and go back to regular sugar-loaded syrup. Plus since the bottle lasts a while it evens out. My dad is diabetic and I actually bought him a bottle of this after I tried it. He's been using it for like 6 months now and loves it. He said it's way better than the sugar-free options he'd tried before and it doesn't mess with his blood sugar at all. He uses it on his morning oatmeal every day. The only thing I'd say is don't expect it to taste 100% identical to regular maple syrup. It's really close but there is a slight difference. But compared to every other sugar-free option I've tried, it's not even a competition. This is leagues better. If you're doing keto, low-carb, or just trying to reduce sugar and you miss having syrup on stuff, definitely grab this. It makes breakfast actually enjoyable again instead of feeling like you're punishing yourself with sad, dry pancakes.

Hands down the best tasting keto syrup. I have tried more brands than I care to admits. And this one is by far the best. It is thick like real sryup and doesn’t have that weird chemical taste most keto syrups have. Only 1 next carb per serving. It’s amazing! Bottles a little small but a little goes a long way. Buy it!

I purchased ChocZero and Lakanto syrups. I prefer ChocZero, even though it’s overpriced for the amount of syrup you get n the tiny bottle. It had a thick consistency with a pleasant maple taste. It doesn’t taste like authentic maple syrup, but it is comparable in taste to the maple flavored sugar-based syrups. Lakanto smelled strong on alcohol when I opened it. It had an off taste that I got used to after eating for a while. It’s super thin and require refrigeration after opening. You also have to use it within 90 days of opening. It was ok. However, I wouldn’t buy it again if give a choice. The bottle of Lakanto was 13 oz compared to the 10.5 oz ChocZero bottle. I prefer ChocZero over Lakanto hands down. 2.5 oz difference in the two products in terms of volume wouldn’t make me choose Lakanto over ChocZero. I took 1 star off my ChocZero rating due to the cost/value.

It's pretty good...but expensive. I personally prefer Smuckers sugar free syrup and it's 1/3 the price.
