Great for gaming - would pass otherwise
As someone who plays a lot of mobile games—ones like Genshin Impact—I’m happy to say that I think this case makes a difference. With most normal cases, my iPhone 15 pro tends to get hot fast, causing the screen to dim and performance to throttle when I’m gaming. It would even throttle just playing pokemon go outside. Really the only solution is to let the thing get some air and this case lets it do that. The phone still gets warm, but subjectively I feel like I don't notice how hot it is with this case compared to normal cases -- hopefully because it's actually not getting as hot. The depth of the back bumper is just enough to protect the camera lenses without adding unnecessary bulk. It does feel a little strange compared to a traditional case because you feel that lip rather than the case flattening out aroudn the edge. Phone coolers clamp on perfectly and arent blocked by the case. And mounts like the iOttie that actuate based on the phone pushing the back of the mount still work just fine since the bumper doesn’t interfere. One detail to watch out for though is that the thickness around the charging port. Straight cables fit and charge normally, but right-angle connectors don’t seat flush. They still make contact and charge, but you won’t get that satisfying tactile click-in because the connector sits slightly crooked. It's enough that I would say right angle cords are not compatible with the case - even though technically you can get it far enough in for it to still start charging. I think if you're looking to keep the phone cool - this is the case. Feels good, keeps the phone from constantly rubbing on everything you put it down on. Accessories still work fine. But if you dont game/have a heat problem I would probably still prefer a slim normal case. And if you're someone that drops your phone all the time, I have no idea how much more likely, if at all, your phone would be to break because there's no back. But honestly I've dropped my phones many times and never had the case knicked/scratched/cracked/deformed on the back of the case. It's always on the corners. And this case has that covered just as much or better than other cases. I wish it were cheaper -- I feel like at it's current price of $22 it feels like ok but not great value. Wish they could keep it a couple dollars under that $20 mark.

Gamer’s Perspective
It’s difficult to find a case that can give adequate protection and yet give sufficient heat dissipation. Any heat dissipation case is generally a case with holes for breathing. I’ve used Rhinoshield crash guard on the iPhone SE previously and now this on the iPhone 15 Pro. This is likely the best case a gamer can get within reason for long gaming sessions without going to the extent of getting an external phone cooler device. Pros: 1) Heat Dissipation - unlike any other case with a backing to it, this is pretty much a one of a kind (there are off brands but this is probably the only one I’ll ever be comfortable using with my $1100 phone) 2) Aesthetics - you can literally see and feel the back of the iPhone which pretty much any other case with a backing cannot do and a regular case defeats the #1 reason above. Have given clear cases a fair chance and they are never as good and they yellow overtime despite any marketing they put on claiming anti-yellowing 3) Protection - not going to argue the fact that it is more likely to scratch than a case with backing, but large large majority of the time when the phone is dropped in any manner it will hit the sides or corner first. If it makes contact with the front or back then it means it landed on an object that sticks out (I.e rock) and that’s just unfortunate. If I was doing anything substantial like hiking or where I feel there’s a lot of loose items, I have another case with a backing that I can use 4) Flat Surface - the crashguard for iPhone SE also did this even though the camera bump is much smaller on that device. The crashguard bumper raises over the camera bumps on the phone, thus creating an all around protection for the cameras, and as a result, when lying flat, it does NOT wobble. Many cases out there, to keep it thin, makes a raised edge around the cameras in order to give it the protection. But makes the phone wobble when you press on it laying flat Cons: 1) Big Case - it’s the trade off that’s naturally being made choosing a bumper case. It is noticeably thicker as it is designed to be thick enough to clear the camera bumps, but provides the #4 pro reason above 2) Weird feel on back - I feel like once you have this a day or two, this is a non-issue. But as a bumper case, the back is not flat. So there is also a back lip. It certainly takes getting use to but in my opinion it gives grip and you can feel the nice texture of the actual back of the phone which the iPhone 15 Pro feels premium. Overall as a heavy user for gaming, this is a very nice case that is one of the best of its kind. The only back for heat dissipation is very effective compared to any of my other cases with a backing. It was basically use this Crashguard bumper case or having to take off a regular case during gaming sessions. I also really enjoy feeling the back of the phone. Forgot to mention MagSafe accessories work just fine, without a regular MagSafe case with an ugly circle.

Tough, Slim Protection That Doesn’t Bulk Down Your iPhone
I picked up the RhinoShield Bumper Case for the iPhone 15 Pro and it’s quickly become my go-to daily case. Right out of the box it feels solid without feeling heavy or clunky, exactly what you want in a protective case. The CrashGuard design delivers serious shock absorption. It's my third case (one for iPhone 8, then 12, now this). I’ve dropped my phone a few times (on tile and concrete), and the case has handled it like a champ. What’s cool is that it protects the corners and edges really well without wrapping around the entire back, so you keep a slim profile and still see the clean look of the iPhone. Grip is excellent; it’s easy to hold onto even when walking around or reaching for something quickly. Buttons are responsive and tactile, and it doesn’t interfere with wireless charging or MagSafe accessories. If you want reliable everyday protection without turning your phone into a brick, this RhinoShield bumper case is a great choice. Highly recommended for anyone who wants maximum impact protection with minimal bulk.

bulky but good protection
This is a great case, but it was a bit bulky. I knew it was for added protection, though. It’s a good fit if you want a bumper case and still want good protection.
