Can the ScanSnap iX1300 scan photos?

Yes! Using the Return Scan path, the iX1300 can scan photos to create beautiful, sharable digital images. To avoid damage, we don't recommend using the U-Turn Scan path (document feeder) for photos.

Is the iX1300 a duplex scanner? What does "duplex" mean?

Yes, the iX1300 is a duplex scanner, meaning it scans both sides of the page. The iX1300 scans both sides at once, so you don't have to flip pages over.

Is a ScanSnap Cloud account required to use the iX1300?

No. ScanSnap Cloud is optional and free, offering users the choice to send their scans wirelessly through their router to popular cloud services and operate ScanSnap with a mobile device.

Can the iX1300 scan to other applications besides the ScanSnap apps? Is it TWAIN compatible?

The iX1300 does not include a TWAIN driver, but it can be configured to scan into many 3rd party apps that support the viewing of PDF and JPEG files natively, such as Adobe Acrobat and others. Need TWAIN? Check out the RICOH fi Series.

The feeder holds 20 sheets, but what if my document has more than 20 sheets? Can I still make one file?

Yes, you can scan documents with more than 20 sheets. The iX1300 can be set up to ask if more pages will be loaded before completing the session and creating the scanned file.
