Is Sleep Mode the only way to turn off the display or any selection beeps?

Thanks for your question! There are other ways to turn off the display and the selection beeps except for the sleep mode. To turn off the display in other modes, you can also press and hold the oscillate button on the machine for 3 seconds until you hear a beep sound (you can only hear it when the beep sound is on) indicating that the display off function is successfully activated. After 60 seconds of no operation, the display will automatically turn off. To turn off the selection beeps in other modes, you can press the Sound Off Button on the remote, or press and hold the Fan Mode Button on the machine for 3 seconds until you hear a beep sound indicating that the sound off function is successfully activated.

Does it use a lot of power to run for a long time ?

I have two running 24/7 and I have not really noticed a change in my electric bill.

Can the fan be set to not oscillate at all?

Yes. This tower fan has an oscillate button. if you don't want the tower fan to oscillate, you don't need to press the button. Hope this helps!
