Geniatech EyeTV Netstream 4sat DVB-S, DVB-S2 1N4S20161101

Well, I had a lot of problems to set it up. You can only do that with an app (iOS in my case), and it is extremely buggy. The documentation on both the app and Netstream 4Sat is next to useless. It takes a lot of trying and experimenting. Elgato once (several years ago) had a lively forum where users could exchange experiences. Elgato also kept their client software "EyeTV" up to date. Since Elgato sold everything to Geniatech a few years ago nothing much has happened. EyeTV is still on 32 bit with no information on when and even IF it is going to be ported to 64 bit. So what happens this autumn when we get the new macOS? In worst case it means goodbye to EyeTV (and Geniatech). I would really hate to see EyeTV go, it is a superb program to manage your recordings.Back to Netstream: I have 3 LNB:s that are connected to the Netstream (19.2°E, 13°E and 4,8°E). On top of that a fourth LNB (1°W) is connected to my old Elgato EyeTV Sat (with a card to decrypt). Unfortunately the Netstream 4Sat is only usable on unencrypted signals. The 4,8° signal is ok, I can connect that LNB to the EyeTV Sat, and watch a lot of channels. However, when I connect to Netstream 4Sat the app is not capable of finding it, no matter how I try. Sometimes the app only shows one of the LNB:s, sometimes two. As mentioned: Extremely buggy app and not a clue on how to fix.My interest is mainly the 19,2° LNB so, I am enough satisfied for the moment. Now I can watch and record both e.g. German HDTV, and Swedish (SVT) HD-signals at the same time with the same instance of EyeTV. And that was my goal.

Just skip the bundled software completely. Honestly it just feels like they put zero effort into the software, which is buggy, difficult to install and just doesn't work. Does not accept my licence key. Android app is broken as well, however it did work on a Oneplus android phone. You do not need to use the bundled software to use this device thankfully.Third party software which can use the SAT-IP protocol like Tvheadend integrates perfectly. Or just search Sat-ip in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to find an app.

Das Produkt funktioniert generell gut und ist super erdacht, nur leider gibt es für das aktuelle macOS eine neue Software, die sich nicht installieren lässt. Wäre alles gut wenn der Support helfen würde. Doch dort hält man es nicht nötig zu antworten, obwohl ich ca. 10 Mal telefonisch (!) nachgefragt hatte und die Anfrage "priorisiert" wurde. So ist die Hardware leider funktionslos mit modernen Computern.Product works excellent in general and has great functional design but for latest macOS there is a new software which is not feasible to be installed. Wouldn't be a big issue if support would help out. That's not the case, even after numerous phone calls with the promise to make it a priority no communication back. With that this hardware is useless when combining with modern computers.

Après avoir installé le matériel, j'ai récupéré via Astra plus de 200 chaines mais une seule en français et pas de TNT. On trouve sur le site du fabricant en chrechant bien"EyeTV Netstream 4Sat ne supporte pas les chaînes cryptées avec des ordinateurs, des smartphones ou des tablettes. Il sera donc impossible de recevoir la TNT gratuite française par satellite avec ces appareils.Seuls certains décodeurs SAT>IP supportent les chaînes cryptées. Elgato ne sait pas s’il sera possible de recevoir la TNT par satellite avec de tels décodeurs SAT>IP et ne peut donner aucune indication de compatibilité ou d’informations concernant les modules CAM et les cartes d’abonnement acceptés par de tels décodeurs. Merci de contacter le fabricant de votre décodeur SAT>IP pour obtenir plus d’informations "Je retourne le produit, dommage que cela ne soit pas plus explicite sur le descriptif, cela ferait gagner du temps et de l'argent à tous

Eigentlich hatte ich ja einen ziemlich dicken Hals, als meine beiden TV-Tuner von Elgato zeitgleich den Dienst quittierten! Schuld war da wohl hoffentlich ein Gewitter. Und ja, ich hatte tatsächlich den Verdacht, dass da der Hersteller mit "geplanter Obsoleszens" seine Gewinne auf meine Kosten steigert. Nach dem ich mich beruhigt hatte, entschied ich mich zum Erwerb dieses Gerätes der Fa. Geniatech. Elgato war der Hersteller meiner "alten" Geräte - und den gibt es so nicht mehr. Was die da so treiben mit umfirmieren, hin- und herübernehmen ist mir ja ziemlich Wurscht bis es darum geht, wer mir wohl mit Rat und Tat zur Seite steht, wenn's nicht so tut wie's tun sollte. Na ja - das Ding war eigentlich viel zu schnell da. Gefühlt, kurz nach dem Klick auf den "Kauf-Button"! Dann lag es da rum, bis ich mir zum Wochenende ein entsprechend großzügiges Zeitfenster einräumte. Der Notfall-Wein war auch schon dekantiert. Tja, und dann kam alles anders. Kaum zu glauben, reinstecken, anmelden - GEHT! Meine Planung, Stunden damit zu verbringen, irgendwelche Zugänge, Passwörter, Kabel, Updates usw. auszuprobieren war innerhalb von ein paar Minuten erledigt. Und es hat sich auch tatsächlich noch gelohnt. In jeder Hinsicht ein Gewinn! Die Sender sind jetzt unabhängig eines Rechners auf allen Geräten im WLAN verfügbar. Und das tatsächlich richtig stabil in HD-Qualität ohne Aussetzer! Und es liegen auch noch weniger Geräte mit ihren Strippen rum. Fast freue ich mich, dass die Dinger von Elgato kaputt gegangen sind.

Betreibe das Gerät inzwischen an einem aktuellen Mac mini mit 10Gbit LAN. Der Receiver kann natürlich nur 1GBit. Aufnahmen kommen auf eine externe 5TB-Platte (USB3). Seitdem läuft auch die alte 32bit Software eyeTV völlig ohne Macken, es gibt keine abgebrochenen Sendungen oder nicht gestartete Aufnahmen mehr. Fazit: läuft das LAN nicht stabil, Finger weg von dieser Kiste. Ansonsten sehr empfehlenswert. Ein Stern Abzug, weil derzeit immer noch keine 64 bit Software bereitsteht.

1) Die HW tut was sie soll wird aber selbst im standby recht heiß.2) Der HW liegt ein Lizenzcode für EyeTV3 (MacOS) bei. Diese SW läuft NICHT auf 64bit MacOS. MacOS Versionen mit 32bit Support gibt es schon seit Jahren nicht mehr. Es gibt eine 64bit Version (EyeTV4) aber dieser Lizenzcode ist selbst auf Nachfrage nicht zu bekommen. D.h. man muss noch zusätzliche SW kaufen um das Gerät unter MacOS zu betreiben.3) Die Android App EyeTV netstream hat wiederum ein anderes Problem. Wenn sowohl ein netstream 4C als auch ein netstream 4Sat betrieben wird dann überschreibt die Senderliste des 4C jene des 4Sat und umgekehrt - ist also unbenutzbar. D.h. es wurde offenbar alles implementiert um zwischen 2 Geräten umschalten zu können aber aus irgendeinem Grund gibt es nur eine Senderliste.
