Knot a problem
I love this product, I was very impressed with the quality of it. In other reviews I read that it was really thin and in my head I thought it would be really watery and would drip. However, I used this to cover a couple of knots and prime my stair rail. I was careful not to overload the brush but I didn't have any dripping and usually I'm really messy. I used two layers on the knots and it completely got rid of them. As this is water based rather than shellac I don't know how well it will work long term but the positives outweigh having to redo it in a couple of years time of the knots bleed through. The paint is very low odour and dries very quickly. It's relatively easy to clean but I recommend cleaning it off anything if gets on accidentally (I stood on the paint lid in socks and how have a stained sock).

Worth every penny
At just short of £20 for a 500ml tin this paint is undeniably expensive. But I suppose that's because it's no ordinary paint. When our central heating boiler in the bathroom leaked, although we spotted it & stopped the leak almost immediately it still left horrible brown stains on the white kitchen ceiling below it. Tried bleaching the stains as recommended by the pros but that only faded the stains & watermarks slightly. Two coats of standard Dulux emulsion didn't help at all. Research led me to this paint. I was I admit concerned at the price thinking if it doesn't work that's £20 for nothing. Upon opening the tin, the paint smelt rather pleasant in a way emulsion used to smell & upon pouring it, it seemed rather thinner than paint is these days . I don't mean watery, it was very white & opaque - I just mean thin in viscosity. Brushed it onto the damaged area (as I was waiting on a new mini roller) & it covered very well immediately. It was very easy to apply but as I say, thin so go carefully to avoid splashes! When dry I was pleased to find it had obscured the stains by about 90%. A second coat the following day with a mini roller & that became 100% & the finish was excellent. These stains were bad, really dark brown. I don't think anything else would have obscured them so totally as this product. And that's why it's worth the money in my opinion.

Does what it says
Great product. Does what it says, used it to cover a water stain that was caused by a leaking boiler. Reasonable price and fast delivery

Terrible smell which lasts too long. Original Zinsser is way better.
Absolutely terrible smell, still there on my experimental plank of wood at least a week later...I react so badly to it I haven't checked any further, so ive no idea if it covers up the smell of the acrylic paint I used as a test. I recommend the original Zinsser, its messier bc it needs meths to clean up , but the smell disappears in 15 mins and it really works to block underlying offgassing.

The only real choice worth having
Amazing stuff, goes on easy and covers all.. I prefer two light coats of this and did a 100 year old stair case that was lightly rubbed back already
