Don’t listen to what anyone says about how “bad” this set is. Came almost week early, no defects in the set whatsoever or on the mat. Every piece is identical, colorful and big. The weight is perfect and they sound amazing. The mat can get dirty easily, but they make it super convenient to clean it with a damp sponge. It may be hard to carry the set in a backpack, instead simply take the mat, (which comes in a wrapped sheet and the 2 bags with the chess pieces for the simplest portability.

With this set is viewed all set up on the table You know you're in for a serious chess game this is not a toy this is the absolute In the pc I love IT !

Satisfyingly heavy pieces.

i love this set it was exactly what i was looking for, large pieces with some weight to it, everything else like the board/mat, and the book was just a plus. The only downside was that my set was delivered without a two black rooks, just one. And one of my black knights needed some shaving, i had to use a credit card to remove the excess material that was left on it but that wasn't so bad, nothing you can do about missing pieces. But hey they gave me an extra pawn, so i guess i can use that. PS I am still waiting to hear back from company in order to get my missing piece. I heard that their customer service is really good. (Update: i have received my extra pieces but i also requested to have amazon replace the original set of pieces that I had because some of them still looked like they had needed some more detailing. I got my new set with a full set of pieces, once again i love the set and i always have a great experience playing with them. The company also replaced my missing knight and rook, so now i have two extra pieces, i use them as ornaments for my work desk and i love them for that. Its like i have two pieces of art.)

They're weighty - it really feels like you're doing something when you make a big move haha. I like the board, the pieces stick nicely. But if you're a little OCD about things - it never wants to lay PERFECTLY flat. Always a spot or two where the fold bumps up a little. I feel like I'm making it worse by folding the board up, but that's what they say to do, so...

So first off, the quality is great and product meets description perfectly. But what I didn't consider is how a silicon mat doesn't want to really lay flat and that it is impossible to roll and use with a "normal" tube style chess carry bag. Being silicon the mat has zero rigidity at all and the only thing you can do is kinda fold it up and put it into a sack once you find something to carry it in. Also the silicon picks up any kind of dirt far worse than the standard plastic/faux leather mats. I liked the weight of the pieces but honestly want a smaller size piece to go along with it. That will probably end up being difficult to come by but I returned this product and will try something different for my needs that is NOT silicon.

Played on one of these a few weeks ago. This triple weighted set is good. I MAY later buy the quadruple weighted set but that's probably going to be sometime in the future.
