I originally purchased the ALEGI Aquarium Sponge Filter Pad for a very unconventional reason - and I’m so glad I did. I tried to reorder replacement filters for my pet water fountain only to find out the fountain had been discontinued and the brand no longer carried the filters (so frustrating). Customer service suggested I try an aquarium sponge filter pad and cut it to size, saying it would work just as well and be far more affordable. They were absolutely right!! This sponge pad is fantastic quality - dense, durable, and super easy to cut to fit any filter compartment. I was able to customize it perfectly for my pet fountain, and the water is flowing clean and clear just like it did with the original filters. Bonus: I realized I can use this one pad for multiple filter replacements, which is a HUGE COST SAVINGS compared to buying brand-specific cartridges over and over. Very happy with this purchase

Glad I bought this 1.5" thick sponge filter. The price is good and using proper expansion steps the sponge expanded to the exact dimensions. At first I got it out of the package, it looked like it is sticking to itself and is way smaller than in the description. I soaked it and then placed in the dryer on low heat for 30 min. Worked like charm. Highly recommend it.

I acquired the aquarium sponge filter pad for deployment across all of my aquatic systems. The sponge exhibits substantial thickness, aligning with the dimensions suitable for a large Fluval filter. It can be precisely cut to accommodate smaller filtration units. I am highly satisfied with this acquisition; I would definitely repurchase it and I recommend its use to others. It's super easy to clean, and while it has a slight smell when you open it, the smell goes away once you rinse it.

Functions as it should. You get very little for the price. Way too much money for this product. Easy to work with and cut to size. Should have got double the amount for the price.

The ALEGI Aquarium Sponge Filter Pad is perfect for my tank setup. It’s easy to cut to size, provides great filtration, and holds beneficial bacteria really well. Water stays clear, and my fish are happy. Excellent value and quality—highly recommend for any aquarium!

Honestly, I was a bit hesitant to order this because of all the reviews I saw with the images of weird, deformed, flattened, foam monstrosities but this has exceeded my expectations. I don’t know if those were the result of user error or if they were genuinely just defective pieces. All I know is that for me this works perfectly for cutting a custom shaped filter to get my terrarium waterfall pump back online, and only took me about half an hour from opening the vacuum sealed package to getting it to where it is in the video here. All I did was I threw it in the bathtub and let the tub fill with the water on the highest temperature. Let it soak for about 15 minutes. Wrung it out, then threw it in the dryer on high heat for also about 15 minutes and now it’s perfect and good to go and also like way bigger than I actually expected so I will have plenty left over should I ever need it again in the future. Might just make some more terrariums. Anyway five stars all around. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Just do what the instructions say, hot water then hot dryer…don’t overcomplicate it.

Easy to cut, works as expected, not much else to say.

I see a lot of negative reviews in regard to product not being the correct thickness. Maybe you didn't receive the card explaining what to do, I don't know. All I did was fill up the sink with hot water and soaked it for 30 secs, rung it out, put it in the dryer. It came out perfect as you can see in my video. No issues and it's exactly as described. Perfect for my aquarium filter.

This thing is about 18" by 18 " which a can live with, but its about 1/2 inch thick. ITS NO-WHERE NEAR 1.57 INCHES THICK. For $30, guys, seriously, talk about skimping on quality. You'd think you were cutting cocaine!!!
