Great product, exactly what you expect.
Almost two years old and still running strong. Great addition to my boots. Keeps legs debris from getting into the lacing, provides additional arch support and just a little time saver. For the price, definitely satisfied. I bought this second pair to go with the second pair of boots while my originals get new soles.

A unique item. I’d buy again
This of course is unique to me. Certainly easier to use a zipper. Heavy material, strong zipper. I do wish came with more instructions. Several ways it can be laced up. Certainly easier on my Vietnam ere jungle boots. Once you’ve figured it out, then you’ll see how easy it is. I only saw black leather or leather type material. Seems durable. I have had bilateral hand surgeries. This has made them a lot easier for me. When ordering, check how many eyelets you have. They have to mesh size wise. I used my own laces which were still in good condition. Fair price. Time will tell how durable. So Vietnam era boots had 9 eyelets. I recently bought two different boots from Amazon. Both have YKK zippers. There are others for shoes, which I’m going to put in my wife’s sneakers. I haven’t worn long enough to say how long they will last. I suggest keeping them clean

Leather, Brass, YKK zipper? The raw materials are worth it alone.
They do seem to be real leather, some sort of heavily treated chrome-tanned stuff. Got the Clara Red with Bronze eyelets. Stitching has been done pretty well on my pair. Eyelets don't attract when tested with strong magnets. Zipper has been pretty solid so far. Testing this out on a pair of (don't judge) Nick's Boots. I always wanted to try this concept out, and their zipper is like 50 bucks, so.. Yeah, this is super convenient. I might recommend adding/leaving a false tongue under this, I know that sounds weird but the bunched up leather (or fabric) of the gusset (or tongue) in my (or your) boots (or shoes) might be a pain when trying to wrestle the zipper up. Worse yet, the zipper will probably abrade this area over time, and fabric will get nasty and tangled. Leather will wear through and need to be replaced. So.. That's my rationale. Eyelet spacing is somewhat standard, these were a bit far apart for my boots if I were to lace them in tight (which I did when first fitting them) applied conditioner to them and my boots and zipped em shut. Left tight for the night and in the morning I loosened them, put them on, and snugged to comfort. They work just fine and for the cost, I'd say they're worth trying even just for chuckles. Being leather, bronze, and a beefy thick YKK zipper, I imagine they'll hold up pretty well for a while. They also look snazzy on my milk chocolate brown casual boots. Quick on-off to keep up with people wearing chelsea style boots, while letting you retain some ankle support.

Fine in a pinch
Zipper comes undone after a little while. Leather isn’t great quality

Works Great, Excellent Price, Impressed!
At first, the zipper insert looked too big to fit my laced up 9 eye Georgia boots. I was about to order the 8 eye but decided with the 9. When it arrived, it looked longer than the top of the boot itself, but then I placed it behind the eyes and tongue with the holes lined up behind each other. Laced it up by going in and out of the holes and not crisscrossed as shown in the video on how to install. it. I reused the laces I had previously as this insert did not come with skinny laces. These laces were fat and it was tough to get them into the eye holes particularly where the top hooks were. I ended up cutting the tops off the laces and melting the ends so it was pointed and easier to needle through the holes. In the end, the inserts fit neat and tight into the boot and looked really nice. Since I put the inserts behind the eyes, the boot was very tight as I tried to zipper it up. So much that I could not pull the zipper all the way up. Fortunately there was slack in the laces where I could loosen it up and adjust the fit comfortably. My advice it not to cut the laces short until you thread the whole thing through with equal slack on both sides. Then put on the boot with your socks loosen the laces, zip it up all the way working toward fitting the boot on comfortably. Tie off the slack and store the extra laces in a way you don't snag them on the opposite hook as you are walking. I looped the bunny ears onto the hooks on mine - see the pics. Wear the boot for a week until the inserts break in, then adjust the laces again then cut the excess off. You may not need to do all that but I did not want to cut off too much then end up with short laces in the event I run out of laces and cannot tie them up with a double know. Cutting the laces too short may leave you having to re-lace again and go through the hassle all over again. Although it is a hassle to re-lace, the joy of zippering up the boots rather than lacing it up all the time takes the misery of the extra time all away. Joy joy joy!

Hard to input in boots
Not worth it!

Works great for 8-eye Doc Martens
I installed them on my 1460 Pascal boots with the original laces, copying the lacing pattern from my Sinclair boots which come with a zipper insert already. (Middle of the lace crosses under the bottom of the zip insert, then up through the bottom holes, down through the next... Then I loosely tied the ends of the excess laces together to make it easier to tuck them into the top of the boots.) I ordered the Claret dark red, which, like it shows in the picture, was basically just black, except for the fabric around the zipper teeth which is a dark maroon/brown. I'd considered getting black anyway, so I'm happy with how they look.

bought these for my motorcycle shoes, and they work great helping to gear up for a ride so much quicker and easier. in addition, the good quality leather helps in preventing cold winds and water from slipping in the shoes while riding. highly recomended.
