Motorcycle Protective Jacket with Full Body Armor, Motocross Protective Jacket Armour, Sport Motocross MTB Racing & Off-Road Chest Protection Dirt Bike Gear for Men (2XL)

I got this primarily as trail riding armor. Something to help keep me from getting messed up too bad by unexpected encounters with rocks, trees, my bike, etc. I've gone down on my elbows and back with it on and have walked away none the wiser. Nothing too insane, but enough to where I've been glad to have it on. Mine has held up for the back half of the riding season this year. I've taken it on mostly double track with some single track here or there. I'm size L for most shirts, so the 2XL fits me pretty well. All of the straps adjust pretty easily and keep the pads in place where they belong. The build quality feels good enough but I can see how wear and tear is going to get to it sooner or later. The zipper seems like a major weak point, it's kind of one of those cheapo mini-zippers. Everyone looking at this knows that name brand moto gear is absurdly expensive. I'd say this is worthwhile over some of the big brand Batman under-suits for upper body dirt biking armor. I definitely don't think this is on par with a proper moto jacket for street riding, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't use it on the street to get to the trail on my dual sport. Better than nothing, and better than jacking with stowing a street jacket on my bike when I get to the trail. Just know that this isn't really about abrasion protection from high speed slides; it's about protecting you from busting yourself up when you meet hard objects on the trail or when you get roosted by your buddy.

Pretty decent little piece of gear for the price. I bought this specifically for the arm, shoulder, and light back protection. It’s super convenient that it’s all tied together in a jacket style setup. It makes it really easy to put on and take off when you need to. Each piece of armor has straps that allow you to adjust it to your body. That being said, I got this specifically for low speed work on streets. This would not hold up for higher speeds considering the armor is just plastic. I don’t know how this would hold up for motocross since that’s not my forte.

First, as far as the sizing, I order an XL according the "sizing chart" and the it is a perfect fit. It is a very nice protector jacket; however, the plastic plates should be made of a harder material; this is the only reason I am giving it a 4 stars and not 5. After I received it and tried on and it was fitting perfect, I was a little concern about a $50 jacket protecting my body and both my wife and I decided to continue shopping for a stronger protection at a low price, because I can not afford too expensive. So, I went online shopping. Everything I found was more expensive that I could afford, my budget was $100. I finally found at cyclegear.com, a Bilt Charger Jacket which is on sale at $79.99. I found the local store and went to buy it. An employee of Cycle Gear help me with the sizing and advice me to get a size Large. I tried on and I did not like how it fitted. The elbow plastic padding was not aligned with my elbow and it was a bit thight on my chest. Also, the shoulder pads were not aligning. I asked the employee for an XLarge, and he replied: "I am not going to sell you an XLarge, that would be huge on you." He asked what size shirt I wear and I said Medium, he said, "Then you should get Medium/Large" Instead of getting offended at the fact he said he wouldn't sell it to me, I figure he was concerned with my safety. I told him I would trust him because I am a new rider and I don't know anything about motorcycles or protection gear. So, I purchase it. Later at home I tried on again, my wife helped with adjusting all the straps, and it just did not feel right; it was too thight and the plastic at elbow and shoulder did not align well. I should had read the reviews on that "Bilt Charger Jacket" which a lot of them stated they run very small, up to 2 sizes small. Even though the Plastic on the "Bilt Charger Jacket" were harder than this one I am reviewing, I decided that this was a better fit, everything aligns perfect! I am even able to put a leather jacket on top; it not too bulky. I returned to the store, Cycle Gear and the same employee that said he would sell me an XLarge was there at the register and I told him I was returning the jacket because it was too small; believe it or note, HE ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO EXCHANGE FOR A BIGGER SIZE!!! I told, NO, are you kidding me, you told you wouldn't sell me an XLarge when you, as an employee should know this run small. So, I just got a refund. I am happy I decided to keep this Protector Jacket and I pray I won't be disappointed if I have a fall or accident; only time will tell for sure. I hope this helps!

I ordered the XXXL since I am 250lbs and nearly 6' tall. It fits perfect! It's actually pretty nice especially for the price. I can't compare it to a higher end brand, but this is perfect for my first chest armor for down hilling. Before putting it on, make sure all straps are secured. There were two on each shoulder area that were not strapped. The spine is velcro'd, but it also has side zippers near the shoulder area. Have someone near you to help put it on the first time, to make sure you have everything zipped up and strapped. Also, test fit a jersey or shirt to make sure everything fits properly. My hoodie fit right over no problem. UPDATE: I used the armor today, not by choice, and it held up fine. I took a violent crash and the trails were frozen solid. I landed directly on my left shoulder and forearm while downhilling. I’m am hurting big time, but I would imagine I would have received more damage if I didn’t have it. The crash shredded my hoodie, but better than my arm.

I bought this for riding my onewheel, and for that purpose its great. The material feels really cheap, the zipper barely works, and I'm sure after 1 fall something is going to completely rip. The great thing though is that the plastic pieces are actual hard plastic, so the protection is there. I am 5'9 170lbs and I bought a xxl an it fits just right. It almost feels like this a product for children being advertised for adults. I must repeat, DO NOT BUY THIS FOR RIDING MOTORCYCLES! I have over 60,000 miles on my current bike, and I can tell you right now, this will never protect you from a fall off a motorcycle. If you where to fall at anything past 25 miles an hour, this thing will disintegrate, along with your skin. There is no way this thing should be advertised as motorcycle protection, and it will lead people to injuries in the future when they think they are safe. But if you are looking to get this for longboarding or riding a onewheel, then its a great cheap option. SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND GET AN ACTUAL JACKET FOR YOU MOTORYCLE. Your skin, family and friends will thank you.

This thing has totally protected me going down off road on two separate occasions. The hard shells in the elbow, fore arm and shoulders are so necessary. Once you get the fitment right and you are out riding, you won’t feel restricted in the ways you need to move on the bike. Tightening straps and thumb holes are really worth it. My Buddy went down with his high tech soft $300 leatt jersey and it was useless. The moment he hit the ground the sleeves went up his arm and he completely jacked his elbow up. I’ve been down fairly hard twice and just brushed the dirt off, caught my breath and got back on the bike. My only complaint is that I’ma bigger guy and the Velcro on the large waist belt doesn’t stay connected always, especially when I’m riding hard. But under my jersey it didn’t bug me much.

I have been looking for a second set of body armor to have when I ride back to back days. Also something to have in the event that my current armor breaks. I have a set (jacket & Bibs) of Dainese armor that I have had for over 12 years. I was looking at the EVS G6 jacket as a addition. Fell short on cash and debated long and hard about saving up for the G6 or just trying one of the lower priced point jackets. I can say that I am glad I did. It came in just a plastic bag. First impression was it was very light weight. I even wondered if the box had the jacket inside. It did. Upon opening it I noticed that almost every strap was either not adjusted at all or even attached to the buckle. No big deal as that made me look it over real good. And look it over I did. Size matters: I am 5'11" and weight in at 245 pounds with a 45" chest and wear 38/40 pants. I ordered the XXXL and it fit nice. Snug enough but not too snug. I should mention this is for mountain biking use not motorcycles. I oiled the front zipper with some stanchion lube and worked it up and down several times. It improved the movement of the zipper. I would recommend regular lubrication of the zipper as sweat and the sale from your sweat is very hard on zippers. Once the straps were in place and cinched in they did not move. Is it fair to compare this product side by side to something costing considerably more? As it is a clone I say it is fair to compare. I find the back (spine) protector was lacking good padding against the body, however, with a thin wicking base layer on it was not uncomfortable. I also did not see the articulation as much as I do with my other armor. It has joints, however, they did not move as much as I would have liked. The shoulder and arm pads stayed in place and provided me with a feeling that I would have some protection in the event of a crash. I have long arms so I found it more comfortable to wear the sleeve of each arm without hooking my thumb into the loop at the end. That is a feature that I do not have on the Dianese armor. I will let the pictures help tell the story. I prefer a wider kidney belt. To be fair it is about the same width on the Dianese. Also, unlike the EVS G6 armor, you can not put a water bladder in the spine protector. I k new this when buying it - just wanted to mention since I am going to be getting a G6 at some point. What about the other , similar versions, of this jacket? I can only speak about this model. Final thoughts: I am glad I went ahead and spent the money now to try out this piece. I think for what you pay for you get a decent product. I did not rate a full five stars as it could be better. Perhaps future models will come with some improvements. Thicker padding, stringer webbing and a better moving spine with a larger kidney belt. I would buy again. It is worth having as a backup or , as I used yesterday for all day, a primary if this is your price point. Will it last as long as the Dianese? Only time will tell. Good luck with your decision.
