NOT what I was expecting in the best possible way. Etienne is FAR from being the villain the English brothers portrayed him
4.5 StarsI was really nervous about this one.. also I had a few rough days so sitting down, being relaxed enough to read was also a struggle and as I finally sat and started reading I realized this is NOT what I feared it would be :)Like the first three in the series this one is also a rekindled love story. Kate and Etienne had a summer fling (much like Fitz and Daisy) but it ended badly for both of them even though it wasn't for the SAME reasons. We get glimpses into the past, when they were 15 years old along with the "real time" plot line which was sweet. The English and The Rousseau families have a history and not a positive one. As it seems there is always some kind of disagreement between the two Rousseau boys - Etienne and J.C. and the five English brothers, each trying to protect his family's "honor". When you get the whole story you totally get why they don't get along but you also realize that looking at it when you are in your 30s seems petty. When the summer was over both Etienne and Kate hoped to keep in touch but a bad decision on Etienne's side makes everything fall apart. From Kate's point of view none of it makes any sense, or rather she realizes Etienne never felt for her what she did for him because he literally disappeared from her life even though she kept writing to him and even tried to call him. After awhile she just decided to stop embarrassing herself and move on. I don't want to write what exactly happened with Etienne not to spoiler (because most of what I wrote up until this point was revealed in the previous installments) but the animosity between the families grew even more after the fight between Etienne and Alex (English) when Alex was defending Kate's name. Both Alex and Stratton (who went to school with Etienne) didn't want to cause Kate more pain so they decided not to share what happened.. especially not the consequences of the fight (which had another influence on the connection between Etienne and Kate). In the previous installment Kate starts working in the family's company (replacing Weston who wanted to work at the DA's office). Barrett wants to buy a company from The Rousseau Trust which means they have to work with Etienne and his brother J.C. but more specifically Etienne will have to work with Kate. Stratton and Alex are totally and absolutely against this idea, and yet Kate says business is business and she is NOT going to let what happened 12 years ago dictate her current actions. Secretly she wants to see Etienne and see what she feels about him when they are face to face.It doesn't start pretty as you can guess, but since there is still attraction between the two and it's obvious in their own way they still care about one another even if they don't TRUST each other. Also they NEED to discuss the past, and once they do, they are both amazed to find out the truth for once. It's very far from what both suspected.I really liked the fact Kate was "average build", meaning she wasn't a petite skinny girl which is exactly what Etienne loved about her. She was a bit insecure about her body, and he was trying (even back then) to make her realize she is desirable the way she is. It was a nice add to the story. Also I really liked Kate's relationship with her best friend Libitz. I can't wait to get more of her in the Rousseau's part of the series (coupled with J.C. Rousseau). She sound FUN and also a very perceptive and good friend :)In the 4th installment in the series - "Seduced by Stratton" we meet Amy - Etienne's ex-girlfriend, the one Statton was in love with for two years. It was VERY interesting getting Etienne's side of the story because what we got from Amy then was very little from the interaction between her and Startton. Be ready to be quite surprised about Etienne in this perspective as well..All in all, it is really NOT what I was expecting in the best possible way. Really enjoyed it! But I gotta say, I'm not Etienne's biggest fan. I'm not really sure why, I just didn't like him that much.. (maybe it has to do with his bluntness which can be offensive) even if he is FAR from being the villain the English brothers portrayed him.. I DID enjoy seeing him and Kate together.Tags: Contemporary RomanceMore Reviews - http://ultrameital.blogspot.co.il

A Modern Day Romeo and Juliet tale that had me swooning in delight!!
"I will always come to you.”KISS ME KATE by Katy Regnery rocked my world! I have enjoyed every single book in the English Brothers series but there was just something about this angst-ridden second change at love tale between rakishly handsome Etienne Rousseau and sweet yet feisty Kate English that gave me all kinds of deliciously swoony feels unlike any of the other installments that came before. This stormy, tumultuous romance just DID things to me...there was such rich back-story between Kate and Etienne and it played out so beautifully that it made my heart thunder wildly in my chest, brought bittersweet tears to my eyes and left me sighing in rapturous wonder.I adored this book from start to finish...the whole Romeo, and Juliet forbidden love theme is just timeless, and Katy Regnery hit all the right notes with this tempestuous tale. The juxtaposition of the story within the story where Kate and Etienne's "doomed” love affair was chronicled between the present and the past was absolutely brilliant! I particularly relished the flashbacks recounting their whirlwind teenage courtship and the emotions were so palpable and real I felt as if I was falling in love right along with these two infatuated, starry eyed teens! And I also was mightily impressed with the manner of which the whole convoluted truth of how—and why—our star-crossed duo were torn apart was woven throughout, and when all the heartbreaking revelations finally came to light it was quite a sucker punch! Turns out that nothing was as it seemed…and I love nothing more than when an author changes the playing field by throwing some curveballs into the mix!The romantic chemistry between Etienne and Kate was positively breathtaking!! Ten's biggest regret was losing the girl he'd loved and lost. They fell head over heels for each other over the course of a week at the tender age of at 15 but as is the case with this heart wrenching story, in some rare instances your first love just might end up being your last.“You are love, Kate English. Nothing will ever, ever change that for me. Because I defy any other plan for my life. I refuse it. Because this is real—me loving you and you loving me. Because I swear to God, Kate, I will still love you on the day I die.Even though they were torturously torn apart and eventually moved on with their lives…and to other lovers…their hearts always belonged to one another. Turns out over the course of their 12 year separation their pent up yearning still burned bright!! Now as they finally reunite and are forced to work side by side in a joint business venture between the English and Rousseau clans the love spurned lawyers must set aside their contentious feelings for one another and act professional in order to handle some delicate contract negotiations in New Orleans. But keeping things all business ends up ends up being a lesson in futility because sparks fly every time they breathe the same air and they know they can never truly move on with their lives until they reconcile the long festering hurts and make peace with the past.Watching these two torn apart lovers pine hopelessly for each other, all the while fighting their feelings every step of the way before finally succumbing to their romantic destiny was a glorious thing to behold! There is a slow percolating prelude to the big consummation scene in this book and when these two hopelessly smitten lovers finally burned up the sheets it was positively explosive! And since I am a big advocate for tons of juicy conflict I naturally derived enormous glee in all the testy squabbling between the English and Rousseau clans. While the resolution of the long festering feud was not tied up with a nice shiny bow, inroads were definitely made and Regnery delivers on a tearjerker HEA that made me weep with joy and sigh in giddy delight!Case closed! KISS ME KATE was pure heaven from start to finish!!

Good Read
I have really enjoyed reading this series of book! I like the two main characters a lot, didn't think I would like Etienne Rousseau to start with, but he grow on me. I liked the new characters you meet in this book (the Rousseau family) and seeing the English boys again. It is not to heavy, just a fun light read and I enjoyed the authors writing style. I would definitely read more of these books and am looking forward to reading the next book.
