For use with flat iron in Bali, Indonesia
I am from the US and needed an adapter/converter to use on my trip to Bali, Indonesia and China. I purchased a dual voltage Conair 1600 watt compact hairdryer and it worked perfectly in the adapter slot of this product (when purchasing a dual voltage hair dryer make sure you turn the dial on the dryer to the higher voltage before you plug it in if you are in a country with 220-250 voltage!). I also purchased the Revlon Ultra Straight ceramic 1" flat iron. This is a basic flat iron with a high and low setting. I purchased this specifically because it DOES NOT have an auto shut off as my understanding after reading the instructions for this adapter/converter was that auto shut off products were NOT compatible with it. Because the flat iron is NOT dual voltage, I plugged this into the converter plug slot (this was my entire reason for purchasing this product as I needed the converter to convert this 120 volt product to the higher voltage in Bali, which is 240 as the flat iron is NOT dual voltage)....worked beautifully without any problem my entire trip! I used this product in Bali using the plug adapter with the 2 round metal plug prongs and in China using the adapter part that corresponds to that country (make sure you research this ahead of time to know what type of electrical plugs are used in the country you are visiting!). I did not use the hair dryer or flat iron in China as those items were in my checked baggage and I was on layover in China so I cant speak for how those items would work in that country as I didn't use them there. My best advice is to read the product instructions and info on Amazon thoroughly and carefully before you purchase! It tells you exactly what brands are compatible and what types of products you can and cannot use with this. Once you understand this, then you will know what you can use with it. I used these specific guidelines to drive my purchase of the hair dryer and flat iron I bought. Great product! Highly recommend!

This voltage converter works really well for traveling outside the US... it's so easy to use, durable, good quality, double outlet with double USB port and no problem with the power. It's just a little issue when you attach the correct adapter at the back of the converted and when plugged to the electrical outlet. It's seem unstable because the converter is hanging and not flashed to the electrical wall plate but that's the way it is because of the adapter, there will be a big gap. It's really not a big deal just make sure it's plugged in well and you can support the bottom of the converter with any object to make it secure to the electrical wall outlet. I would still recommend this to anyone that loves to travel outside of the US.

Works great 5years later.
We do heavy amount of travel and this device has held up for 5yrs. My only concern... The weight of the device can cause the plug to sag in the outlet either popping out or getting bad connection that can cause thermal issues. This device works great on new outlet, but miles will vary depending on the outlet. 4 stars for how it has held up, minus 1 for the issue with plug stability.

Simply unusable.
I bought this in preparation for relocating to Germany. The first (and last) trial was for powering a small artificial Christmas tree with LED lights. Used the converter function to step German voltage down to 110. It simply did not work, period. Zero stars.

It works but don’t overload it
I made a string of ‘tacky drinking lights’ from airplane alcohol miniatures and Christmas lights for my girlfriend’s daughter. They live in Europe and I in the U.S.A. Needless to say, I needed a converter so the lights would work. Enter this little device. It comes with several adaptor plugs you can chose which is needed, plug your American device into the otherside and there ya go....easy peasy. Works as advertised Is rugged You can plug several things into at once but need to be mindful of the wattage used....its easy to surpass maximum wattage but it has a fuse/surge protection built in

Wish I could have used it correctly
I honestly have no idea if this thing works. I took it to Chile and Argentina and the plugs for those countries were conveniently included, so there’s that. The instructions were incredibly confusing and I plugged my amazing Revlon volumizer round brush hair dryer into the wrong plug and fried it within a few minutes 😭 I was devastated and it almost ruined my vacation (yes, this hair dryer is THAT good). I came here and read reviews to figure out what I had done wrong. I’m super disappointed that I had to buy a new dryer and I also had to go buy something to get my through the rest of my vacation! HOWEVER, it was my fault for not reading and interpreting the directions correctly. We are going to Thailand in 7 weeks and I’ll try again carefully. I’ll update after! My advice is to quadruple-read the instructions and then paint something around the voltage converter outlet or put a sticker or something so you don’t screw up like I did.

2 ways converter, ideal for traveler!!!
It is an excellent product! I have been traveling a lot between US and Asia including HK, Taiwan, Japan and China. All these places have different voltages. Although my laptop and cell phone charger can be adapted to both 110V and 220V, the crazy thing is those holes of sockets. Some hotel in China don’t support parallelly vertical plug, that drove me crazy! HK has British three ways plugs. This voltage transformer is perfect for me, because it converts voltage in Both Ways. I can use any applicant with any voltage. It comes with three socket adptors and that saved me. Plus, it is small and easy to pack and go. It is light and easy to carry.
