A insight into the world of motor homing
This is a general overview of the motor homes that can be built. It's not the hands on nut and bolt type of book that you'd expect from Haynes manuals. In all though it has more helpful articles to help you through your build.

Great book on the subject , simple to follow 👍
A great book if you are thinking of building , modifying a campervan etc 👍 Very straight forward , gives you the gist of things , not technical or in depth but I'd say a good read for a starting point or overview on the project ......

A good book to dip into
I had the first edition and found it fantastic, we constantly dipped into it when converting our van. Years later we are now the proud owners of a second hand campervan. As it is quite a few years newer than anything else we have owned I got the new book, it has proved invaluable in fixing all those little problems that the previous owner had left. A good book to have around for any owner of a campervan/motorhome or if you want to build your own.

Think very carefully before deciding to DIY.
Very well laid out book as you would expect from Haynes. What this book fails to tell you is, all the problems you will face along the line. It's very satisfying when ( if you are capable ) you can do most of the work your self, as is the reason for this book being on the market in the first place. When it comes to purchasing the components for the electrics and gas etc, it doesn't give you an actual list of what you need. It doesn't tell you what size of wiring you need. If you purchase stuff on line, you don't know if you are buying the right components, or even if they are compatible with each other. If you visit a caravan centre that sells components, 95% of them aren't helpful at all! they would prefer you to spend £10k+ to do the whole job themselves. When it comes to getting an auto electrician and a LPG installer to connect your components, they charge a small fortune and then don't give you a certificate. Unless you have friends that are in the trade, don't bother. You may think that doing it yourself will save you money, it doesn't, you'll have sleepless nights, with worry and of course, a lighter wallet.
