Lifestyle Essential
Following a low-carb lifestyle, I needed a reliable rice alternative that fits my daily meals. I tried this keto rice for lunch and dinner, and it cooked quickly while keeping a firm, fluffy texture. I paired it with roasted vegetables and plant-based protein, and it absorbed flavors well. The high protein and fiber help me feel satisfied without extra carbs. It’s become a staple in my kitchen, making it easy to enjoy familiar meals while sticking to my low-carb routine.

There is no replacement for rice.....but this is good!
Its not rice. Nothing but rice is rice. However, it is the single most solid alternative I've found in 10 years. I boil water, add kaizen for 5 min and drain. Gives a nice texture with a black rice like body and neutral flavor. Ive tried the rest. This is the best. I use this for me and cook regular rice for family who process carbs better. This is on my list of top products for my patients working on weight or metabolic syndrome as well. 5/5. Love it!

Perfect for Keto Diet
Is this rice? No, but it mimics the texture and is a perfect vehicle as a side dish for us Keto dieters. I miss rice and used to eat rice everyday and I'm tired of spending so much on $$ on rice alternatives, this is the closest thing I could find that helps bulk my meal and fix my rice craving. It has a lot of fiber so I feel full....definitely eat a smaller portion to prevent being bloated and super gassy. The other reviewer about the farts is true, so eat it in smaller portions and not everyday. I boiled mine with triple amount of liquid to rice for 10min and let it sit for 10min to have it super soft like orzo. I don't like my "rice" crunchy. Boiled it with a savory broth like veg or chicken and onion and garlic powder and salt and it will be delicious. Because it's made out of beans it is has a slight bean flavor almost like hummus or chickpeas but that doesn't bother me..the pros out weigh the cons! I'd rather eat something similar to rice and pasta vs never having it again. Plus it soaks up any flavor or seasonings you add to it. Photo is a taco bowl I made with a fourth of one rice pkg, ground beef, and taco toppings. The price does suck but I get three rice portions out of one package and I don't eat it for every meal!

Good, but different texture
I am always looking for higher protein higher fiber substitutes for different food I really enjoy. This “rice” fits my needs. The taste is different from plain rice but easy to mask with red beans or gumbo on top! It’s not bad, just different. The texture is what I notice the most as it is a bit chewy/gummy. But again, once you have other ingredients slathered in there, it’s not bad at all. It cooks way faster than rice and goes with everything I usually fix Rice with. I rarely eat rice plain. (Southern girl) I do love being able to add more protein and fiber to my dishes without really noticing a difference. It’s definitely more expensive than rice so I probably won’t be ordering it as much as I’d like.

steamed for 30 minutes gives perfect texture
I have a rice cooker with 'low carb rice' setting. This rice cooker has a metal perforated inner 2nd bowl that holds the rice 1/2" above the water to steam this low carb rice. The default cook time is 45 minutes. On my first attempt, I used this setting and the rice came out too soft and overcooked. On my 2nd attempt, I kept everything the same except I stopped the cooking at 30 minutes... Perfect texture, great flavor. I'm very impressed. This turns out like perfectly cooked brown rice, and tastes the same to me.

Pleasant Surprise
This has a great taste and almost great texture, especially compared to other rice "substitutes". Is this replacing rice in sushi? Uh, hell no. And its the only thing I refuse to give up. But, this is a fantastic pairing for most foods I'd love to eat rice with in the past. Not really sure about the people complaining it was mush or like hard pellets, it comes out fine with each grain distinct and they dont mush together for me like so many other products that attempt to be a rice substitute. Each grain DOES have a bit of a firm bean-like texture though. Even after reheating. Im enjoying this far more than the other substitutes: heart of palm rice (too much of a sour flavor even after soaking to adjust Ph levels), shiritaki (rubber band texture), cauliflower (Now THIS one gets too mushy for me), and even daikon (which ends up being tolerable to me after a soak for many other dishes but not at all a rice sub imo). I also never got any bloating or nausea at all so I guess your mileage may vary.

D E L I C I O U S!
I tried this Kaizen Protein Rice Variety Pack and was blown away at how delicious each flavor was. It’s an excellent rice substitute and oh so easy to prepare. I did find, however, that it’s quite pricey:(

Pretty Good For A Low Carb Substitute
I have to say these are pretty good. There is another brand that I also love that is low carb (great flavor and texture), but it's 3 times the net carbs as this brand (the other one is a lot like orzo more than rice, this product is more of a rice vibe). I would suggest getting the plain one and seasoning yourself. I cooked mine with seasonings, sometimes chicken broth. The stand alone taste is ok, not my favorite (even with cooking with seasonings), however that fades into whatever sauce or topping you use, so it's OK. First time I made these I had black soy beans on top w/apple cider vinegar, a low carb soul food side dish and it was super good. You really need to experiment with this one. The texture is good, but don't forget to rinse these after cooking, or they will be gummy. But it was really filling and as I have stomach issues, it didn't bother me. I'd give it a try. Btw, I did try a couple of the seasoned ones...not for me. Get the plain ones and experiment on your own. I will keep these as a staple in my pantry, rotating with the other brand depending on my carb limits for the day.

Follow the exact instructions and it will be perfect. I let it cool and I add some olive oil. Its a very very good alternative to rice! I had my doubts and now I am sold, and it cooks in 5-6 mins!

I used this in a casserole...perfect. Love it.

The product is good. Not a rice but a good substitute. Slightly heavier than rice so you need less to get full.
