Okay, I was a little skeptical that this would work because it comes with three q-tips like swabs and my dog doesn't like to have anything put in their mouth and is very sensitive about their teeth and gums. I assumed that they give you three swabs because you often don't get enough viable DNA material from a swab. We were pleasantly surprised that we did get DNA results on the first try and didn't have to redo the process--even though we really struggled just to get a swab across our dog's tongue briefly on all three attempts. The results were more detailed than I expected as well--they give you a breakdown on the DNA and then map a possible "family tree." See photos attached. I had resisted buying one of these kits because it is nonessential and seemed like a waste of money, but I am glad we finally did it and know more about our pet's traits and genetic makeup. Happy with the results--would recommend.

The DNA results were completely incorrect and fabricated. They said my red colored chihuahua that looks like a weenie dog, has “German spitz” in him which is a larger dog with longer hair, they also recorded that he’s partially another breed that has curly long hair, they said his coloring is dark brown (he’s red) and his coat has no trace of red in it. They also said he has pointed ears when he has flopped-down ears. Complete waste of money.

I am extremely pleased with this product. I've been wanting to do a DNA test on my dog to help me understand her mannerisms and characteristics better. I followed the directions per the brochure and sent the samples in regular mail. Kokogenetics provides everything you need including labels to send your test in. They estimated 4-6 weeks, and by about 6 weeks the results were online. I was pleasantly surprised by the information that was provided in the online portal. I sat and read through everything, finding new information, including a Family Tree!! If you're on the fence, this is your sign to purchase this specific kit. Well worth every penny!!

It was easy to collect the specimen. We were excited or send this testing off on our new rescue puppy. We received an email giving dates that should be the latest we will get our results. It’s been the 6 weeks (max time it said it should take) and i emailed to find out. They could not give me any answers and said they will be delayed some more. If I don’t get answers soon I may change my stars to 3 for lack of communication. They should let me know there’s a delay instead of me calling.

Very good results that described my dog's traits and amazed to see her breed makeup. She's a rescue and we were curious if she has any Sheppard and chihuahua mixture and this test confirmed it. We were surprised that she also has an akita mix which explains her cream and golden color. Did have to wait about 3.5 weeks for the result.

Results and shipping of sample take FOREVER. Would not recommend based on this and their website often redirecting to a foreign site. I do not find the website to be user friendly nor did I get emailed "updates" on the sample or results like they said. I had to check the website to see if results had been posted, if my sample had been received, etc. Results are supposed to be available within 4-6 weeks from sample being received by their lab. Our sample was received on 4/11 and today was the maximum date for results to be posted. Results have not been posted and after talking to their customer service it will be 2 more weeks. Use another brand.

I rescued a small dog from the pound. He was completely mated and disgusting to put mildly. I knew he had poodle in him but never expected for him to be 100% purebred miniature poodle. I am so glad I done this DNA on him. It did not really matter to me if he was a mut. I did it just because I'm nosey.

I ordered mine and just recently got the dna results. The only thing I would want to add to the dna is estimated adult weight . But other than that I loved it .
