This book is excellent ! I love the pictures and tables. Pictures help me remember information. The book is very well organized. I love that it's divided in levels. I highly recommended it to those self taught students. I only wish it was a little bigger , like the previous edition.

Very thorough and helpful.

This is a well organized grammar. It uses polite form ("Sie") and therefore addresses more adult learners than children, but since it is appealing and colorful, I also use it for my younger students. I first bought this grammar because it can be recommended for independent study; the book contains the solutions to the exercises. There is also a code printed right inside the cover to access additional material such as audio for speaking exercises, video explanations, etc. If students want to practice on their cell phone, they can download the free "pageplayer app" which offers yet more material. However, it can also be used it in class, both for practice and for the specific partner sides with games etc. This really is a grammar for a modern way of learning of a language!

I have been doing Duolingo for a while and I also heard German a lot growing up. So I have a pretty good vocabulary already, but I am trying to learn grammar and to really be able to speak. I bought this book to supplement my Duolingo which never really goes into the grammar rules. I have done two lessons in this book so far. I think it does work for me and it will be helpful. The exercises are useful, its really a workbook more than a teaching book. I just hope there will be enough exercises to deal with my weak points. But, it is entirely in German. I can pretty much read it well enough to understand everything, but I can see that others might be challenged. There are supplementary videos and audio which you can download. I only did the first video and first audio file so far. I thought the video was useful as additional explanation, but there isn't a video for every chapter. I did not think the first audio was particularly useful and I was not sure what you were supposed to do with it. Do not buy this book thinking it will be the only thing you need to learn German but if you need supplementary material to help you with grammar, then I think its worthwhile.

Such a great book

Really good grammar workbook with short, clear explanations and good practice exercises - all in German but don't let that put you off! Also included are downloadable audio exercises and video explainers. Everything is graded A1-B1 which makes it very accessible. An interesting little feature are the exercises you can do with a partner as they include an audio alternative for those, like me, who are learning alone.

Great book for learning a language , arrived undamged took some time to get to me though , The words are small print and I find myself having issues sometimes making out some pages what is written . otherwise the over all on it is that it would have been a lot better if the letters were even a little bigger . The print quality is good

The book was dented and a bit broken when I got it. But can still use it
