Maui Jim is complete Junk both
Complete junk. These glasses have no business being in the price point category they are in. I have always worn upper priced sunglasses, Oakley, Costas, some Ray-Ban etc. I saw these in a retail setting and really appreciated the lightweight styling and construction.....These held up fine until I used the provided lense cleaning cloth. The coating on each lense came right off as I used the provided cloth. I contacted Maui Jim customer service and was told SOL in their version of politeness. Excuse and blame created from the reps on imagination was his only way to attempt to defend the sub-standard performance and construction of these glasses. I offered MJ an opportunity to change my mind, they had no interest. Last pair. I'll go back to brands that actually perform as they should in the $200-$400 price range. Complete junk. I wouldn't buy another pair from the 19.99 rack at a convenience store.

Expensive but cheaply made
Purchased these expensive Maui Jim glasses. When I received them, they looked and felt very cheap, especially for the price. They were uncomfortable on the bridge of my nose, so I returned these and purchased Persol sunglasses which I found to be much better made and much more comfortable to wear.

If I Could Rate These Ten (10) Stars, I Would. Lightweight, Durable, Excellent For Large Faces.
Fantastic Is an understatement. These are one (1) of the best sunglasses I have ever owned. Anything better would also be a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses that were either lost or broken and could not be repaired. The design is classic genius and the looks fashionable. How did this arrive? The sunglasses arrived in a semi sturdy, non-descript in color, semi-descriptive, retail type packaging that was just about larger in size then the contents and weighing in ounces. What was inside? Inside were the sunglasses, a case, and a polishing type of cloth to wipe the sunglasses. Weight? The sunglasses weighed in at no more than one (1) ounce, if that. Measurements? Each coupling measured 5” wide and under 2” in lens height. Durable? Yes, regrettably, these have been dropped several times with no negative consequences. Further, my toddlers had gotten their hands on them with a lot of bending, but no breaking and the lens did not scratch. Value? These are on the mid-to-premium price range. However, I think them worth the price for a major force in brand name sunglasses. You get what you pay for. Vision acoustics? Colors are enhanced and glare is reduced. Bridge? Single bridge with adjustable nose pads. Shape? Rectangular, that compliments [larger] round/heart/oval/oblong faces. Material? The frame, front, and temples appear to be nylon, helping them to be lightweight. Fit? For me perfect with the (eye) 57, (bridge) 17, (temple) 138, 4 base curve. Certifications? None really. There is a CE certification, not RoHS. Not a big deal. To my understanding, CE is not recognized in the USA. the letters CE mean that the manufacturer or importer affirms the goods' conformity with European health, safety, and environmental protection standards. It is not a quality indicator or a certification mark. [UL would be such.] Not a big deal. Was the product as listed? Yes. What was received was as represented in the listing. Which is appreciated. Country of origin? Made in Japan. Sunglass case Triangular, works, but I have had more durable Maui Jim sunglass cases. Cloth Typical. Nice, soft, works well to clean. UV Protection? The listing notes UV protection, however, there is no mention exactly as to what and at what percentage. There was no tag on the lenses to elaborate. This should be noted. Bottom-line. It’s a genius design that is fashionable. Optics are as perfect as I can grasp. Lightweight, comfortable, and durable. There was nothing wanting. Polarized? Yes, filtering out certain light. Glare protection? Absolutely. Would I select these again? OH YES!!! Surprises? They fit, felt, and looked better than expected. I hope my thoughts added information.
