EW-DP ME2 Set (R1-6)

This Sennheiser lav kit has honestly been a total game-changer for my video setup. The fact that it powers on and off with my camera automatically is one of those simple features that makes such a huge difference – no more worrying about forgetting to turn things off and draining batteries. What really stands out is how much cleaner the digital signal is compared to the older G3 and G4 models. The frequency finder is way more refined, and you get that signature Sennheiser audio quality without all the headaches. Sure, the transmitter doesn't have its own little display, but honestly, who cares? You can control everything from the receiver anyway – gain, frequency, all that stuff. And if you want to get fancy, there's even a phone app that lets you tweak settings remotely. The price point is actually better than those older models too, which was a nice surprise. But the real winner for me has been the frequency management. I do a lot of press conferences where there are tons of wireless systems all fighting for airspace, and since switching to these digital units, I haven't had a single clash. It just works. Build quality feels solid too – nice metal construction with this magnetic plate that snaps onto my camera setup really securely. I've got four of these units now and they've been rock solid across all kinds of environments and distances. Sometimes the simple upgrade that actually delivers is the best kind of upgrade. These units are ready to use right out of the box and they include a rechargeable battery system that holds up for many hours while still giving you the versatility of using AA batteries when needed. Overall a GREAT piece of kit for any video or audio professional.

The receiver doesn’t work. It will only turn on if it’s plugged into USBC. I tried multiple AA batteries and the lithium ion battery pack. None of them work. Was supposed to shoot with it today real bummer. In addition The Kit is missing the cold shoe adapter as well as the screws and the microphone we received was the incorrect Lavalier. This led to a ton of wasted time on set Jerry rigging it to my gimbal. Adorama tried to get out of this part saying that the cold shoe adapter wasn’t included in this kit, which is patently false. The kit absolutely does come with the adapter and even has a picture of it listed on the outside packaging with the box. ALSO In the box, we received the ME4 Lavalier and we were promised the ME2 Lavalier, which is much better suited to my needs than the ME4. I bought this item at a discount and I was hoping to resolve this by receiving the correct Lavalier and a functioning receiver, as well as the cold shoe adapter and screws, but instead Adorama opted to issue me a refund and said that I could re-order the unit at full price. This is really poor Customer Service in my opinion. I had always thought that Adorama was a professional company that would do the most basic quality control on their items for their clients. The fact that items were missing and or swapped out their parts and I received a completely non-functioning unit is totally out of lines with my expectations. Extremely disappointed.

This has been a very dependable unit for me. I primarily use it to wirelessly transmit to a satellite speaker at weddings and other events. The battery life on the receiver is very good. The Bluetooth app makes it easy to spot check the battery levels or tweak settings from your phone. The auto channel scanning and pairing is easy to use. The cable options make it very compact and versatile.

Sounds really good. We have it hooked to our sound board. I like having an app to mute/unmute the mic from the phone/tablet when the pastor forgets to mute/unmute. I know it was designed to be portable, but it works just as good this way too.

Worth every penny! Use this with a wireless speaker when I DJ and it has perfect sound through multiple walls with no drop out! Sennheiser always makes solid quality products.

I read the instructions. I behaved myself and installed the app. I used the app to sync the devices. Everything seemed great. I can't find information online, or in the documentation, as to why the receiver resets itself when the input passes a certain threshold. It's not in the video, but the receiver will reset itself when the audio gets close to peaking as well. The transmitter stays on without an issue. Why do I have to do an impractical, "UPS pickup," to return this. There's a UPS store that I wanted to drop this off at, but Amazon's return center didn't give me the option. I know it's dramatic, but I feel punished for being a customer.

This wireless setup is fantastic for inside or location recording. If you want to record outside, you'll likely want to also pick up a mic mitt so you don't have wind noise, but that's the only other thing you need besides what's in the box. The distance and clarity of this system is better than any other wireless system I've tried. I can see this being useful for on the street reporting or TED-type talks or church services. I think the secret to this system sounding so good and having such great range is that instead of using the 2.4Ghz band like cordless phones and wifi, it uses the UHF band, which can go through obstacles and even walls fairly easily. Getting the best UHF frequency for any location is very easy because it has an auto-scan where it will find the best frequency for the area you're in at the press of a button. Couldn't be easier. Everything you need to use this is in the box (with the exception of a mic mitt if you're recording outside), so it really is ready to set up and go as soon as you get it. I've been a Sennheiser fan for years, and this high-quality product doesn't change that at all. Recommended.

This radio mic kit comes with a transmitter and mic, and a receiver, with locking minijack cables as well as XLR cables. The transmitter uses AA batteries (included) and the receiver uses a larger battery which charges via USB C. Also included is a clip for the mic if you're clipping directly to clothing. It also includes a magnetic mounting plate, (the receiver has four small magnets allowing it to snap on to the plate VERY securely), and the necessary 1/4 screws to mount that to something like a camera. Also of note is the receivers are stackable using the magnets, which is ideal if you're rigging directly to a camera and need two of them. I only have one so I wasn't able to actually try this, but it's worth mentioning! The antenna on the receiver are adjustable on the and rotatable, and seem very durable too. The receiver has a built in screen allowing you to check levels, battery life of itself and the transmitter (in percentage, not just a simple bar), and also connection strength. The transmitter is very small, build quality feels great too. It's got a convinient mute switch (easy to use but not so much that it would be knocked accidentally!), so actors have piece of mind when they need to speak privately. The on off switch is inside the battery door, as is standard on most transmitters so it can't be accidentally turned off. There's a single built in antenna which feels very robust. Build quality seems great, it would definitely survive some knocks! The receiver is a little large, that's honestly the only downside with this kit. It's not a problem if you're mounting to a large camera or if you're using it in a bag, but it's a bit bulckier than it feels like it needs to be - I've had people ask if the receiver works with two transmitters, as it looks like the sort of size that would, but it doesn't. However, build quality is again amazing, the magnetic mount idea is super smart! The built in screen takes all guesswork out of the equation so you feel safe knowing your levels are good and nothing will die. You can even display time remaining instead of battery percentage. The sound quality is of course the most important thing! It sounds absolutely fantastic, very well rounded for a radio mic, with a clear crisp sound. Human voices sound natural, and I'd happily use it instead of the boom in a lot of situations. Senheiser seems to be targeting this more at camera operators who perhaps regularly end up recording sound themselves for interviews and need something good and reliable. The inclusion of different mounts for cameras makes it super useful for that, along with the stackable design and easy display so batteries are never stressful! So I'd highly recommend it for people in that kind of job.

If your looking at this you probably know the reputation of Sennheiser. This wireless microphone does not disappoint. It sounds great, is easy to use and very flexible to setup. Including cables in the box to connect to various different inputs, mean setup is quick and easy. Broadcast distance is great too and very clear. Ideal for loads of different applications, be it on stage or off. Highly recommended.
