The non-toxic dyes the manufacturer uses are to the same standard as baby products.These silk pillow cases, are, of course, known for being kinder to hair than ordinary pillow cases. The manufacturer, Colorado Home Silk Co., also says the item is helpful for users with acne or curly hair. The maker claims that the fabric is soft, light to the touch, breathable for a cool, comfortable night's sleep that's also gentle on the skin. The case comes in a nice gift-worthy box, including a silk sample swatch for the purchaser to perform a burn test, though I’ve no idea why anyone, not a college Home Economics major, would want to do that. But whatever. The Sunday Silks range, according to its vendor, is built to last; therefore they have included a 12 month warranty.To wash. The makers say that, as this product is so thick and strong, it doesn’t have to be washed often, every two weeks will do. HAND WASH (preferred) 1. Fill a tub or sink with cold water 2. Add a small amount of delicate silk detergent 3. Delicately wash. 4. Rinse with cold water 5. Hang to dry in the shade. MACHINE WASH 1. Place garments in a wash bag with other like colors 2. Add a small amount of delicate silk detergent 3. Wash on a cold - delicate cycle 4. Hang to dry in the shade. OK, so don’t tell me you don’t have wash bags, how else have you been washing your bras all these years? Have just washed mine, though not following this routine, as I hadn’t yet read it; it came out fine. Not so nicely pressed of course, but I sure don’t press home linens, I don’t actually press anything anymore. Bottom line: recommended.

This is my first silk bedding purchase (I purchased the pillowcase and face mask set). I have discovered the following after much online research:1. One wants to buy 22 momme silk, 100% silk, for proper quality, durability, longevity and feel for bedding. Just take extra special care when laundering; Best to hand wash with delicate liquid detergent and dry flat. After doing some research, I have found, for people who sleep hot like me, you do not want 30 momme silk as it is too dense (like curtain drapes) and not as breathable. Bedding is best at 19 or 22 momme. However, I choose 22 momme for all my bedding.2. The face mask strap fits too tight on the back of the head for some people (I have seen this in other reviews), including me and my big male head; This creates an uncomfortable tight feeling on the back of the head.SOLUTION: Take scissors and cut the strap in the back of the mask exactly right in the middle; After you do this, the scrunched silk material on the strap easily and naturally stretches out past the enclosed elastic band on both sides of the now cut silk strap. Now tie a small, single, slightly loose knot, with your now cut two pieces of silk strap. Place mask on face and then pull slightly at the ends of the knotted strap, at back of head, to slightly tighten knot and improve fit if needed. I did this and it now fits perfect, with no tight feeling on the back of the head.I run hot and this pillowcase certainly helps with regulating temperature, keeping my head & face cool, especially on my shredded memory foam pillow (memory foam runs hot or warm; the pillow I have zips open on the end and you can adjust pillow profile and density by removing some of the shredded memory foam).This silk pillowcase is helping with my sleep some, it is palpable. However, I now need to buy 100% silk sheets to cool down my entire body and get the full better night's sleep.I now am saving up to buy 100% silk sheets, 22 momme silk, so my body won't run so hot and I can sleep better. I can't wait!

It’s a challenge to decide which silk pillowcase to buy—so many manufacturers. Spent way more time than I wanted to, plowing through all the descriptions and reviews. Probably because I felt guilty spending this much money for a pillowcase when I have really nice cotton ones. But my hair is longer now and a mess to deal with in the mornings, needed help.Chose this one because of the Oeko-Tek certification and positive reviews. Tried the navy blue one—would have preferred a lighter color but was concerned about staining it from face creams, though haven’t found that to be an issue at all so far. After using for several weeks to see how it held up, just bought a second one to have while other one is in laundry.So far so good. I had been hand-laundering the first one in a silk wash, but hand-washing is not a priority for me, to say the least. I washed the new one in a mesh bag on cold, gentle, hang-dried it and it turned out fine. What I particularly like, besides the weight and feel of the silk itself, which is good, is the sewing. All seams were done properly, the zipper worked well and was not too heavy for the fabric, nor was it noticeable.Yes, I definitely can tell the difference promised with less-messed hair in the morning, that’s the reason I decided to spring for silk—seems indulgent—but it seems to be working. As for face wrinkling, I have no idea, maybe. That would be a big bonus. The fabric is very comfortable, no sliding around as I feared. The silk is cool now, in the winter, but concerned about the hotter months—time will tell.My only complaint is the width of the cases. I have to struggle to get my queen size pillows into the case without straining the zipper. These could stand to be a bit wider or the zipper length longer or sturdier somehow.As an end note, I’m sure there’s other brands likely as good. I just couldn’t spring for the more expensive ones—too many other places my money needs to go. The price here was a good balance. I wouldn’t have chanced the much cheaper ones because likely corners were cut somewhere.

Bought this alongside the face mask for my mother-in-law this Christmas. She absolutely adores them, very well made and silky smooth.

The pillowcase seems nice but the sleep mask was missing from the package.Update: I contacted the company directly and they shipped me the full set to Canada, no charge. Great customer service. Communication was excellent.
