Excellent Quality
We are very happy with our purchase. The filters do an excellent job and the water tastes significantly better than what comes directly out of the faucet.

LA Tap Water Finally Became Drinkable
Living in Los Angeles changed how I think about tap water. People say it is drinkable, but once you taste it daily, you notice things. I used to buy gallons of spring water every week, which added up fast, so switching to this pitcher felt like a practical experiment more than a leap of faith. The water still has a taste, but it is cleaner and easier to drink. It is not unpleasant, and it feels consistent, which matters when you drink water all day. The filtration works well for LA water, and I find myself drinking more simply because it is always there and ready. That alone made it a positive change for me. The pitcher claims to hold 11 cups, but it does not feel like it in daily use. That might say more about how much water I drink than the pitcher itself, but I do find myself refilling it often. Over time, I might upgrade to a larger option, but functionally this one does what it says it does. I also questioned how the filter indicator works, and it turns out it tracks time and estimated usage, not water quality. I changed the filter after about 40 days, which sounded fast at first, but makes sense given how often I refill it. Overall, it helped me cut back on bottled water without sacrificing taste or peace of mind and yes, it is good value for the money.

PUR reality
The Filter Indecator: didn't work right out of the box but it's not really necessary as one can just look at a filter to see when it needs changing. Pitcher: It's plastic. Plastic degrades. It will crack after a few years. Even though it is dishwasher safe, I don't recommend constantly heating it in one then putting water right into it to filter. Wash it by hand; prolong its life. For those who complain about the pitcher's weight.... uhhhh yeah, you are literally adding water to an empty container soooooo.... Admittingly though, it can be clunky for people with low sinks and weak/injured wrists - try a faucet filter instead. Pour spout: I agree with the reviewers about the poor spout design change. Why on Earth is there a double dip now?! Unless your pour is angled just right, you can expect water to leak. every. time. For those who complain about the pitcher weight, you'll be even more ticked with this factor. Lid: The circle part (where you put the water through) didn't come with nubs to hold this part on / in. As in it was made incorrectly and the packer blatently sat a lid in, taped it on so I wouldn't notice the defect until the tape was off, and let it go out the door. Shame on you packer person! I think of PUR water filters like printers. The pitcher is cheap (when great deals hit) - you get what you pay for. It's the filters that bite you in the end. For those that have water meters to justify the water is worse after filtering - perhaps tell someone other than Amazon reviewers/buyers b/c that is quiet a claim that needs to go public. For those saying it doesn't take out enough - PUR doesn't claim to take out everything; nothing can. I don't have a meter but my water tastes better filtered. I've haven't gotten sick with the filters yet. Filter life - This depends on your water quality. Sometimes filters last for months, sometimes mere weeks. It's not a filter issue, it's a water issue (although one offs exist yes). The filter price alone makes this point more frustrating than the poor lid design. Alas, PUR is a business that banks on water plants/infrastructure ..... and banks on them wearing out fast like ink for printers...... Filling - TIP: STOP filling it so much that it remains in the top non-filtered part! YOU are the problem, not the pitcher. YOU cannot fill something more than it will allow you to. Go up to the top of where the filtered water sits (= about 2 pre filtered fills). Simple physics! Also, learn exactly what 11 cups means. Fill a bowl at home and see if that is enough to quench a family's thirst and see how often you have to replenish it..... Please stop making this overlook a PUR problem/issue in your reviews; it's you not reading nor knowing. I get it though, busy lives and all. All-in-all: I'll keep buying PUR pitchers until the lid and pitcher degrading get so bad that it's not even worth it. I do appreciate, the amount it saves me from having to buy water. Kinda. Sorta. Sorry, your filters are ridiculously priced but that is a me issue.

Good tasting water
I got this to finally replace my old Brita because I wanted the larger size, and the water tastes better. However my ProPur is still better since its ceramic filter is more effective than the carbon filters, although it does take about twice as long to filter the water (and was twice the price). But our city tap water is not bad so I'll use the PurPlus for cooking and mixing, and use the ProPur for just straight water. Attached image shows water filtering rates, both were filled at the same time and the ProPur (blue) is slower because it's filtering more contaminants.

If it doesn't arrive broken it will be soon.
The water definitely tastes so much better after this than drinking it from the tap. But the pitcher itself leaves so much to be desired. The first one I got the flappy part of the lid you fill it through was made wrong or already broken and returned by someone else. It could only sit there and if you tried to open it it fell off and in to the water. The replacement the lid cracked. It didn't come cracked but it cracked in 3 days. Wasn't unusable though. The indicator on it that lights up also quit working within a couple weeks. Irritating just because it's one more thing about this pitcher that disappoints. But it's easy enough to track when it needs to be replaced anyway. Today trying to get the old filter out (which is really tall hard with arthritic hands) my hand slipped and I dropped the inner tub. It cracked all over. So now my third one is on its way cause I literally just spent a butt load of money on replacement filters and right before I broke the tub I had opened one of the new filters and started to soak it. I think I'm at hate level with this pitcher now. If I hadn't opened that filter already I would have returned the filter and not replaced this filter. I do not recommend this thing at all. The filter is great the pitcher is not. The quality of this thing leaves literally everything to be desired. Edit to add: After reading the other reviews if you see Amy Alkon's review, idk if she returned hers, but my order was after her reviews and the picture she posted is EXACTLY like the first pitcher I got and I now have a sneaking suspicion that I got her return. I even checked the dates and if she returned it about the time she reviewed it I ordered it later in the same month so hers would have been back in the warehouse but not for very long. 😒

Clean and tasty water, 11-cup pitcher is perfect
I've been using Pur for years and have always been happy with them. Consumer testing shows that Pur Plus is one of the best filters for removing impurities, and the pitchers don't add microplastics to your water. I believe this 11 cup is the sweet spot in terms of size. I used to have a smaller one and it took so long to for the water to filter through, and then you would only get a glass or two of water and have to wait for it to refill again (I believe the capacity refers to the overall pitcher, of which a lot of space is taken up by the filter and the top reservoir). This size stores ample filtered water and really doesn't take up much more room in my relatively small fridge. Any bigger than this would just be too heavy (I don't consider myself a weak person and I struggle to pour this out without spilling when it's completely full).
