Useful bug traps, great for garden room/workshop etc. A sticky-end for bugs & flies...
We live in a rural area and as nice as it is we do unfortunately have an over abundance of bugs and general flying things, in particular mosquitoes which we wage war on regularly. I have a tendency to react very badly to mosquito bites and at certain times of year our house has netting, electronic gadgetry, door screens and anything else we can muster to keep the mozzies outside and not inside our four walls.I saw the HUL sticky Pad traps and thought that they'd be worth trying in the garden room and my workshop/garage, rather than indoors around the house. The package contains three separate trap 'booklets', which are each, in fact, two pads. You fold out the 'book' and each inner surface is coated in a thick sticky gel/glue. If you prefer you can 'split the book' down its spine and you then have two completely separate sticky pads. It's a clever design because the glue is in a recess so that when the 'book' is closed the two glue surfaces don't touch.I have had the pads for a few days and have placed one, opened out, in my workshop/garage. I checked this morning and there wasn't anything dead and stuck to the glue... but I think that it's only a matter of time. I am still trying the work out the best place to position the trap so that any fly/mosquito has a good chance of colliding or happening to settle on the glue. I would imagine that the positioning is quite important for maximum effectiveness.I think these sticky traps are good value at around a £1 each, and they sure are sticky! If a fly should touch-down onto the glue pad I definitely reckon it'll stick around for a long, long, long, long time...

Good, if you have somewhere specific to place it.
I had originally hoped to use these to catch the greenfly that were affecting my windowsill chilli plants but these don’t have anything on them to attract the bugs towards them in the first place so positioning them on my window sill next to the plants didn’t really help. I could see them being really useful on the floor of a garage where you might have beetles ants or spiders maybe where those might try to walk over the pads and get stuck because they ARE very sticky… it all depends on if the bugs you are trying to get rid of will try to walk over the trap in the first place?
