Good ink
It is what it says

Big fan, much darker than my previous experience
Always been a reliable product for me. Like all iron gall ink will gum up if you don't use regularly and you might need to clean the nib. This is just a fact of life with this type of ink. Good colour, rapid darkening.

Improved formula
I believe Diamine have tweaked the formula as it is darker than before which is a good thing. I have had occasion to use iron gall ink for years and up to now never rated Diamine brand. I found it too weak; too light blue when wet and new whilst grey when dry. This bottle however is mid-blue when wet and a decent dark blue-black when dry. I suspect they have improved the formula but can only go so far with altering the recipe as the ink says it’s safe for use in a fountain pen, thus necessitating the need to reduce acid levels and keep iron salts to a minimum to avoid pen damage.

It doesn't write good on fine paper (as Clairefontaine) but work a little ...
I needed a dry waterproof ink for writing on cheap paper, as standard copy paper or Moleskine. It doesn't write good on fine paper (as Clairefontaine) but work a little bit better on Tomoe River using Pilot 912, but fine with Lamy Safary and Pilot Parallel. Waterproof immediately after written and put under shower for 90 seconds. Turns to black very fast (in several of hours , or immediately under water). Smells terrible.

This is specialist ink suitable for use for church documents.
This special Registrars Ink is for the Marriage Documents and Register at the village church not far from my home. It is very necessary still and especially this year when we have extra weddings following cancellations last year due to Covid 19.

Good quality ink
Good quality easy flowing ink. Don't worry if it looks blue when the ink is still wet. It dries black.

Great blue-black ink
Very good if you want permanent ink. However I preferred the older formula which didn't sink through the paper anything like as much

Product as described
Ink flows well and does as it says on the ‘tin’

Classico di inglese da archivio. Blu nero, o meglio, nero blu. Ossidando scurisce molto poiché ferro gallico. Con alcune penne diventa praticamente nero, con altre nero blu. In ogni caso, bellissimo. Non poi così secco e ruvido.

Great product. Arrived in a timely fashion. Needed to contact the seller regarding the delivery company. Issue resolved ( although not really their issue). Fast, polite, satisfactory assistance from the seller. Will order again from them. 10 out of 10.

I work in water treatment so I have a specific need for waterproof inks. I do several rounds a day on the plant both indoors in humid buildings and outside. I also really like fountain pens. This can be a tough combination as most FP ink is not waterproof at all. The other issue I face is that, while my personal notebook is FP friendly paper, the logs that I have to keep at different equipment locations are on cheap copy paper that is frequently damp. The only inks that I have been able to let me use my FPs at work without bleeding, feathering, or disappearing in the rain has been Noodler's Black (got lucky and have a good bottle) and Platinum Carbon. However, black can get a little boring. I went on a search recently for some waterproof inks in any color but black that can write on cheep paper in not so ideal conditions. The Noodler's Bulletproof line was my first stop but most of their color inks in that line tend to be very wet. This leads to feathering and bleed issues in anything other than a needle point nib. The Sailor Souboku was quite good but might be a little under saturated for work use (great for personal use though). Pelikan blue black isn't fully waterproof. You won't lose your text but water will make a mess of the page. The Diamine Registrars was the clear winner. It ticks every box for work use with a fine nib. It is fully waterproof. The only way you can tell that there was water on a page written with this ink is that the paper is wrinkled. There is no feathering, show through, or bleeding on any paper. There are only two issues that keep it from being the perfect work ink. First, it is a bit slow to dry on FP friendly paper. In a Lamy Safari Fine, it takes about 20 seconds to dry. My bottle of Noodlers black takes about half that. On an EF nib, it is much faster, as is the time on copy paper. Secondly, it is a iron gall ink. It has the potential to corrode steel nibs. None of my gold nib pens are really suited to my work environment. I'm using it in some lower, if not cheep, pens. I have it in the Lamy Safari, a Moonman A1, and a Pilot Explorer. All are fine nibs but each is quite different. The Lamy is like a Japanese medium, the Pilot is just wider than a needlepoint, and the Moonman is in the middle. If any of these are damaged by the ink over time, I won't be crushed. I haven't found any tales of Registrars actually damaging a nib yet. All in all it is a great ink so far. It has a lovely, but serious looking true blue black color that darkens as it oxidizes. It offers a perfect amount of shading. It is interesting without being difficult to read in a business setting. At this point it is the winner of my search.

This is a great permanent ink.
