This is a sturdy door chain. I bought it for a secondary lock since my front door (with glass panes) only has a deadbolt and not a handle lock, meaning someone could just break the glass, reach in, and flip the deadbolt. I wanted a second lock for peace of mind. This is sturdy and was very easy to install. I actually have a recessed door with very thick wood trim, and I was able to make this work easily. I installed it very high (75 inches) so it would be very hard to unlatch or force open. It is important to note, if someone really wanted in, no door chain will ever keep them out. It will slow them down, though, and make lots of noise... something a burglar does not want. It added an extra layer of security for me and was very cost effective. It is also great for anyone with a toddler who might be able to open the deadbolt, but still could not open the front door.

I got this after having purchased a different lock before that my toddler broke after just 2 weeks. Let me tell you that the difference between the 2 are night and day. This is so sturdy and it gives me such peace of mind to know that my toddler can’t open the door and brake this chain like he did the last one. I would highly recommend this. The only thing I would say is that the chain is pretty long and you can slide your arm in through the door and undo it. This is no problem for me though since I got this to keep my toddler in and not intruders out. It actually does help in a way since it makes it so I don’t have to undo it every time my sister or father come home. They can just reach in and do it themselves. Other than that one thing, this is a great chain.

I'm very pleased with this strong chain lock. I've looked around at many others and find this one to be the best on the market. Why bother with flimsy chains that will break when someone tries to kick the door in? Spend a little extra and get yourself this quality product. This may well save your life when an intruder decides to pay you an unwelcomed visit.
