Quality product, not sure if there were issues with earlier versions but mine doesn’t leak no matter how hard I squeeze it. Comfortable to carry it with the strap that goes across your body, the phone pocket fits my iphone with a medium size, plus few cards and some cash. I’m sure it performs well with really dirty water, but I’ve used it mostly with public water sources, which I would usually avoid, and end up buying a bottle of water somewhere. Taste is alway nice and clean and smell (or lack thereof) has been consistent no matter what it smells like before it’s filtered. This bottle will pay for itself in no time, and also glad to be contributing less to the landfills.

I bought this bottle to take to Mexico for a dive trip. I didn't test it first, just assumed it would work. When I tried it for the first time I couldn't get any water to flow through the filter, even when I would squeeze the bottle. After the trip I contacted the company and they sent a brand new bottle immediately!! They were so quick with their email responses and were so eager to make things right. Amazing customer service. They said they rarely have a filter that doesn't work. The new bottle works well. The water does not flow out fast but I assume that is because it has to go through the filter to be purified. The black carrying pouch is really nice and my phone fits in the front pocket. Back here in the states (when I don't need the filter) it will be a great water bottle to take on hikes. Two different size carrying straps and two different bottle tops.

I really like the taste of the water. Works wonderful, especially if you’re traveling overseas. Change cartridge every 3 months There is a sound … when you press but it really doesn’t matter much for what you get. Love it!

The filter on this bottle seems to work, however there is a small chance of contamination through the top when you fill the bottle. The filter did improve the taste of the water. We bought this for travel as it was lightweight and we wanted to be extra safe but environmentally friendly in countries where water is not always the best. Although most places we went they said that the tap water was safe, we used this as an extra precaution. The bottle itself if quite soft and flexible and the cap doesn't seal tight so it's not ideal to store full in your bag with things you don't want wet. The screw cap on the bottle is made of hard brittle plastic and is easily breakable. I dropped the bottle on the ground and the cap exploded. We were still able to hold the filter in place and squirt it out through the top into another bottle but certainly not very durable. We purchased this because we love traveling with Nalgene bottles as they are large and lightweight. It seems like the bottle is made by Nalgene but the cap is made by SurvivorFilter and is not the same quality of plastic. When we looked, this seemed to be to only decent option for this price point but beware that you may want a back-up plan if the filter breaks.
