This is one of the least expensive trailer boxes I could find, so I was expecting it to be OK but not great. I was pleased to see that the plastic is heavy duty, the box is lightweight, the hasp fits securely, it is water proof (i.e. rain proof). It has some diamond pattern in it that makes it attractive, and the amount of space inside is ample for stowing misc trailer gear. Installation was easy; it only required drilling four 3/16 inch holes through the box and trailer frame. Install hardware is included.

Great for utility trailers. Love the size, it’s huge! The box is made of a very durable and sturdy thick plastic (went with plastic because they don’t rust.) has a latch for a padlock. Looks great on my utility trailer. Allows me to store 2 sets of wheel chocks , 4-6 ratchet straps, a cargo net and still plenty of space for tools/oils, etc. The only thing that could have made it better is that it does not come with any hardware. I used square U-bolts, just remember to seal the clamp holes with RTV or something. Other than that, super functional, I love it and a great buy. No regrets and would buy again. Highly recommended.

This is a great tongue box for a utility trailer; my trailer is 4’ x 8’. It fits perfectly and makes good use of that space. It’s a light weight, but sturdy plastic box. There is no real weatherproofing, water is going to get inside this box at some point. Installation is fairly easy, you will need to drill the holes yourself. We added two 4 in. supports to the back of the box to make it more sturdy, these are not included but are a great addition. You will also need to purchase your own lock for the box. Overall, I’m very happy with it. It’s a great place to store tie-downs and other not-so-heavy tools/equipment, it’s plastic. We drilled two small holes at the front of the box in each corner for drainage.

Solid and priced right

I mounted this box in the nose of my 7x16 utility trailer and it fit just fine while allowing room to crank the landing gear and room to swing the lid open. You do need to leave a 1.75" gap between the back/hinge side of the box and the rails on your trailer because as the lid opens the hinge design pivots the lid back. So to reiterate, if you pushed this back against a solid object and went to open the lid, you can not. You may want to do as I did and use square U-bolts from to better attach this. I would never wish to drilll into my frame and use the DeeZee provided self tapping screws, but you may do that as the instructions show. The box is huge, you can fit much more into the box than the average person would even want to keep stored in a trailer box. I'm telling you, this thing is large! The box is quite strong once installed, I am 185 lbs and can stand on it with no noticable flexing. It's easily able to handle any average built man standing on it occasionally if the need arises. This thing is awesome, go ahead and buy it.

I added this to the frame on the front of my trailer to act as a catch all for the many different things needed while camping - extension cords, chocks, fire equipment. I had to weld a bracket so it would work for my situation, but if your trailer has appropriate crossmembers, this may not be needed. The box is lightweight, contains screws and washers for mounting and has been watertight for me. I did add plywood to the base of the box for increased durability, but it certainly is not needed. I also added additional hardware to ensure it was perfectly stable on my trailer. It has been fantastic for me. I know some people do say that the locking clasp is cheap due to the fact that it is riveted onto the plastic, however, you could drill out the rivets and install screws/bolts if necessary. My lock will keep honest people out, however, if someone wanted to get into the box, it is still plastic! It does what it's intended to and that is to keep my items clean and dry while camping.

I really like this trailer storage box. It's not heavy like a metal one but it's solid. You can stand on it (not sure why you would) and the plastic is fairly thick. The inside is large enough to store all of your trailer stuff.. (straps, shackles, chains etc.) I was seriously considering building a storage box out of metal but for the time and cost.. It really wasn't worth it, unless you have or are building a dump trailer where you will have hydraulic pump and tank. This will work fine for other trailers. (NOTE) This may not fit exactly on your trailer tongue. The cover also opens up slightly outside and leans back several inches.. Keep in mind when installing. In my case I set the box up and made sure when I opened the lid it didn't hit anything then.. I welded angle iron recessed across the tongue to support the front and back of the box with a flat bar welded across the middle for added support in the center of the box. I pre drilled holes in each piece before welding in place on the tongue then all I had to do was place the storage box and drill holes up into it through the pre drilled holes. This made a really good and secure platform. Hopefully this helps.

We mounted this on our car hauler. It is solidly built and can't rust. The price was right, and it was easy to mount. Would buy it again!

Suits my needs and appears well built. The supplied mounting lag bolts could have been stronger, one of them snapped during the install and I had to drill it out and replace.
