Great Product, Filter Lasted Longer Than Advertised
I purchased two of these Air Purifiers in April of last year (currently February, ~10 months later) and am extremely pleased with the results and effectiveness of the product. I live in Brooklyn, NY in a railroad style apartment (one side facing street near-ish a busy road, the other side facing an interior courtyard) and I purchased two 311i Maxs. One is in the the threshold between the kitchen/living area and bedroom area and the other is in the main "bedroom" that faces the street. The threshold between rooms is high traffic, so lots of dust and particulates get swept around when I walked between the rooms of the apartment. Immediately I noticed that the dust accumulation in the living and bedroom area became much more gradual. The purifier itself also traps a TON of dust clumps on the cloth outer filter that needs to be cleaned periodically but I am happy to know that it is certainly doing its job. The bedroom purifier also is doing well, but its a much lower traffic area of the apartment so it doenst need to be cleaned as often. The advertised filter live is 6 months. However, after 10 months the high traffic air purifier's filter is just about at 15% and I purchased a replacement. For context, I run it constantly at its lowest setting and have it automatically adjust to a medium high setting for two hours each evening from 5-7pm (this is usually when I am cooking and honestly, not even sure if this is necessary). I am extremely impressed with the durability of the filters in this capacity. Noise wise, I couldn't be happier. They certainly have gotten marginally louder over time (likely due to filter age) but really not bad at all. My (aging) refrigerator's cool cycle is louder than these things. I'm an audio engineer so I use my ears for a living and am particularly sensitive especially when I am working or trying to go to sleep. Not only is the purifier's noise imperceptible from more than 10 or so feet away, but I have on running all day in my studio where I work and I don't have to turn it off except to record exceptionally quiet sources. To be fair, this is all on the lowest setting. The higher settings are certainly noticeable, but about the same volume as my Mideas air conditioner. The app also works great. When there was renovations happening in the apartment below mine, I was able to periodically check in on the particulate levels while I was out for work and adjust the purifiers intensity as needed to make sure no unwanted drywall or wood dust settled in my apartment. The indicators on the units are helpful as well to see the air quality change when cooking or lighting...erm "incense" and know that the purifiers are doing their job and keeping the house clean and odor free. You can have the filters auto-set depending on particulate levels but honestly, they work so fast at the lowest setting I rarely find myself manually upping the intensity of the fan unless there is a serious cooking/smoke mishap or something similar. You're probably better off just keeping them on low 90% of the time. Recommend these to folks all the time as I do to you, dear reader.

Excellent Air Purifier – Quiet and Very Effective!
I’m really impressed with this air purifier. The design is modern and compact, so it fits perfectly in my bedroom without taking up much space. After using it for a few days, I noticed the air feels much cleaner and fresher, especially at night. One thing I love is how quiet it is. Even on higher settings it doesn’t disturb my sleep, which is very important for me. The controls are easy to use and the build quality feels solid and well made. If you’re looking for a reliable air purifier for your room, I definitely recommend this one. It’s efficient, stylish, and does exactly what it promises.

Clean Design, Strong Performance, and Decent App
The Blueair 311i Max has been a great addition to our bedroom and has dramatically helped air quality having pets and as someone with typical seasonal allergies. Setup was easy and intuitive, and connecting it to the app was straightforward. The design is modern and clean, so it blends into the room instead of looking bulky or industrial. If you are researching air purifiers, it is important to understand how coverage ratings work. The large square footage number is typically based on running the unit at maximum speed and achieving roughly one air change per hour. In practical use, most people run these at lower speeds for noise and filter longevity. For meaningful air cleaning, around 4 air changes per hour is commonly recommended, and if you are more sensitive to allergens you may want even more. These units are designed to clean a room, not an entire home, so sizing appropriately is key. In day to day use, this model performs very well for particulate matter (PM) like dust, pollen, smoke particles, and general airborne debris. Auto mode responds quickly to PM spikes and adjusts fan speed accordingly. On lower speeds it is very quiet and unobtrusive in a bedroom. At higher speeds you will hear airflow, but it is smooth and not harsh. What is nice is that it has a power loss recovery where it will return to its last set mode when power is restored in case of a power outage. One thing that really stood out to me is how much dust, hair, and other allergens the pre-filter alone traps. It is honestly a little shocking and really puts into perspective how important a quality filtration system is. Even with consistent pre-filter maintenance, when I eventually replaced the main filter it was clearly very dirty with trapped particulate matter. That alone justified the investment. For maintenance, you can vacuum the worst of the trapped debris off the fabric pre-filter, but a proper wash is really recommended. Just slip it off, wash it, let it air dry or gently tumble on low, and put it back on. The app will remind you about filter life and maintenance, including pre-filter cleaning, which is helpful. When it was time for replacement, I switched from the standard filter to the Allergen version. I have been happy with its performance, although I did not notice a dramatic difference compared to the standard filter. Moving forward, I may go back to the regular filter depending on availability and cost. Blueair also offers a SmokeBlock option with a higher carbon density if VOC/ odor control is more of a priority. It is worth noting that this unit focuses primarily on particulate filtration. While it will help somewhat with Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) over time, serious VOC removal requires a significant amount of carbon or carbon zeolite media, which brands like Austin Air are known for. Something I am considering in adding to further improve home air quality. The app is well done and practical. It shows general PM trends, logs spikes, and allows manual control. Being able to adjust it from bed is a nice convenience. It has an auto mode, night (turns off less) and then 3 manual fan speeds as selectable options on the device. App will provide you with some additional timers options, smart location options to turn device off and on when you leave the home etc and gives a little more granularity to the fan speeds allowing you to dial in a speed that you like. I don't use these all I will usually leave it on Auto or manually set a speed. Overall, if you size it correctly for your space and expectations, this is a well-built, effective room purifier. It looks good, runs quietly, is easy to maintain, and delivers strong particulate performance. I would definitely recommend it for bedrooms or medium-sized living spaces where clean air matters. I am very happy with this purchase!

I purchased this air purifier to supplement a larger Blueair unit (211i MAX) have for cleaning the majority of our 1171 sq ft condo. This purifier sits in the main hallway to cover areas the larger Blueair unit does not. The setup was fast out of the box. Wi-Fi is enabled, so it was just a case of adding it to my BlueAir app on my phone and connecting it to my home network. The device provides detailed air quality readings on the app and can be programmed for on/off schedules, display brightness and air filter life; the latter is important to know when deciding to reorder new filters. Maintenance is quite easy: each month, I vacuum the outer pre-filter and open the unit (turn power off) to vacuum the filter chamber. The app will advise if the pre-filter needs cleaning. There is a geofence option [called 'Welcome Home', to turn the purifier off if you are away at least 3 km and turn it on within the radius. The unit is well-made and does the job and why I purchased a second unit.

Great machine. You pay for the quality but it's quality you get. I use it in my bedroom for allergy season. On night mode, it is impossible to hear. On level one, you can barely hear it. I keep it on level one. Automatic works well - the speed increased when I had a smoky air fry. The design is nice, and well thought out. The fabric prefilter is super easy to remove and wash. The Bluetooth connection works well and it's nice to see the current and history of how clean the air is. There are no cons here. Great unit.

I already own a Blue Pure 211i max so the 311i max is no stranger. It performed as expected, has a strong fan that moves a good volume of air and not loud. The only thing I am somewhat disappointed with is the control panel which is rather rudimentary. The other comment about the 311i max also applies to the 211i max, is that the devices lack any kind of a handle so it is rather inconvenient to move them around. Even though they are not particularly heavy, the smooth plastic upper and the fabric covered lower body means one has to put one or both hand(S) under the device to pick it up.

I've had this air purifier for a few months now, and it has made a huge difference. Highly recommend! Even on the most powerful setting, the sound is hardly noticeable -- and this was something I was really concerned about. It's whisper quiet. And it works incredibly fast to remove cooking smells and odors.

The BLUEAIR Blue Pure 311i Max has completely transformed the air quality in my home. I use it in my bedroom and kitchen, and it noticeably clears out cooking smells, pet dander, and dust within minutes. It’s surprisingly quiet—even on higher settings—so it doesn’t disturb sleep or conversations. The HEPASilent technology is impressive; I can feel the air is fresher and cleaner, and my allergy symptoms have significantly improved. The smart features are a bonus—I love being able to control it from my phone and check air quality in real time. It’s sleek, easy to move, and doesn’t take up much space. Totally worth the investment for a healthier home!
