Neon Genesis Evangelion 3-in-1 Edition, Vol. 1: Includes vols. 1, 2 & 3: Volume 1

After watching an loving the anime series "Neon Genesis Evangelion" that caused such a stir back when it was releasedm I just had to get more out of the Eva universe! I saw a video on youtube about this 3-in-1 volume as i know the original volumes are out of print so i was intrigued! I read this the other day and i loved it, the art style is frankly beautiful and the page quality is also very, very good considering it's 3 volumes in the space of about 2 (and it's not a VizBig) Pros: - Great story - Beautiful art that fits the Eva "style" - Amazing colour pages - VERY cheap when compared to the single volumes that are out of print - A great alternative to the anime (which is also really expensive here in the UK) - Presentation is also very nice, much better than the "Big 3" 3-in-1 volumes in terms of extra content and page quality! - Interviews and glossary of japanese sound effects (intact which is a BIG PLUS) - Quality of paper is actually better than standard Viz volumes (even if thinner) - Flowing action, which is a HUGE plus in a mecha series! - 3 volumes of manga in the space of 2! Cons: - Not quite the quality of the "VizBig" volumes - Also the "extra" content is available in the single volumes(though here it's much cheaper) All in all i'd say this is a must buy!! and for a really recent release the price is practically a steal!! each volume in this 3-in-1 is 2 and a half times cheaper than it would be to buy any single volume in Waterstones or WH Smiths BUY THIS!!!

For who likes Evangelion, this is a must-have. The drawings are cool and the manga is well written. The story is a little different from the anime which I like because you get some surprises. It's in the original manga version, from right to left which is awesome. Nice artwork and enterviews. I really don't care about that but I think that is a nice touch. It has the original jap symbols translated at the end of the book but some pages haven't got page number which sometimes makes them hard to find.

Although it was New, the front cover and some of the pages was bend... Still, it is a really nice print. The book and pages are bigger than a traditional manga book, making it easier to read. The colored art are just amazing!

I've always wanted to get into this series but never found the time till now after reading these 3 volumes I can safely say that this has been one of the best book series I have read for awhile I love the dynamic or Rei and Shinji with there mystery backstorys and family life plus the mechs are all so well designed and drawn I came here for a mecha manga but am staying for its characters and there development can't wait to read the next book!

If you don't know Evangelion - buy this and discover one of the most unique manga ever created. With regards to the omnibus - the quality is not very good. The pages can fall apart from the book quite fast. So be careful while reading. :)

I love this edition. I'm a huge fan of the anime and always wanted to own the manga. These 3 in 1 editions have excellent paper quality. Its nice and thick and the books have a nice weight, The drawings are crisp and bold and the layout is easy to follow, There is a glossary at the back to help you understand any japanese words (such as explosions, roars and what not) and there are a few glossy colour bonus pages in there which is an excellent touch. I was so impressed I had to buy the other 3 volumes and they make a fantastic set. I just wish they would hurry up and finish the series!!!

Cette édition regroupe trois livres du manga par volume. Ce qui fait qu’ils sont moins chers à l’achat (surtout si comme moi vous vous procurez version « électronique »). Sinon, si vous achetez la version « physique »,vous pouvez toujours collectionner les livres ou encore acheter le coffret avec les cinq volumes d’un coup. Je recommande vivement cette version pour découvrir la saga en faisant attention à vos sous. Il s’agit ici de l’adaptation en manga de la série animée et en anglais.

This is the first omnibus book that contains books 1, 2, and 3 of the original manga series. For any Neon Genesis Evangelion anime fan, it is a fun read. From the novel back-to-front read, to the Japanese “sound effects” (there is a glossary for what the sounds mean, if you are that interested!), to the pages of commentary from those who were involved with the television production, this is a necessary companion for anyone wanting to get more out of the Evangelion world. There is a lot that is familiar, but a lot of great additional character development and plots that are not part of the original anime series. I have blasted through both the first and second omnibus books, but am trying to pace my way through because I want to savor it. Most of the content is in black-and-white with some limited full-color pages at book transitions. The books itself has a high-quality cover that will put up with multiple-reads, as I am sure I will put it through!

Great book and illustration the only minor complaint is that the delivery and the condition of the book but overall still with getting.
