This was a replacement for the same item. We have had it for many years and it has always given great service. Hence when it stopped functioning we replaced it with the same make and model.

Best carafe for keeping coffee hot 10+ hours! I tried 3 others that said they were good for 12 hours, but not true (I did preheat with hot water).

I am a very serious coffee drinker and have used this same model for over 20 years. My older models are made in Japan. This new one is made in China. Says so right on the bottom of the carafe. The older model seems a bit heavier. This new model does however keep my coffee just as hot as the old ones do. There just is absolutely no better Thermos bottle made. Also the tops (lids) are totally interchangeable from the new to the old models. I picked up new tops (lids) for my old models as the seals were getting tired.

Well built, ought to last for many years like the previous one, which we've had for over ten years, use daily, and we still use (we need two now!). Great product.
